A full year has passed and it is time to pass the responsibilities of the ASCE president to Geza Bankuty. Geza is definitely up for the task and I am ex- cited to see what he brings to our branch. I would like to thank Marquis Bing and Shanon Spence for their willingness to continue on the board and congratulate them for their new positions as our Vice President and Treasurer, respectively. They have both served ASCE well over the past year and are up to the challenge of their new roles. I would also like to congratulate our newest member of the board, Andrew Pluta. Mr. Pluta will be serving as our secretary and will surely bring some fresh new ideas from his recent experience as a member of a student chapter. This year Madeline Kender has kindly agreed to serve as our Younger Members chair and is working to find creative and fun activities to encourage active engagement from young engineers (and those young at heart). She will join a growing list of committee chairs, which includes Tim Foushee, Jen Herring, Kurtis Pelto, and Amjid Hussain. Our board members and committee members are crucial to the organization as they provide direction to our branch, but our active membership is truly what makes this branch so successful. I encourage everyone to continue to be active in supporting the organization. The active support of ASCE by our members is what strengthens the or- ganization and synergistically improves the industry. It is a great time to be a Civil En- gineer! PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Dear Members and Friends,
We have had an eventful year filled with activities including our monthly lunch meetings, our 20th annual golf tournament, the toothpick bridge contest, a winter and summer social, and a
screening of Dream Big. A full year has passed and it is time to pass the responsibilities of the ASCE president to Geza Bankuty. Geza is definitely up for the task and I am ex-cited to see what he brings to our branch.
