PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Dear Members and Friends of ASCE,
What a great E-Week we had last month.
Our branch was able to receive several proc-
lamations from local municipalities. Thanks
again for the donations received for our
LeBarge Cruise as well as the great job that
Norman Robertson, Geza Bankuty and Mar-
quis Bing had done in putting it together
and doing the outreach. With the great
weather and solid turnout, next year should be even better. Putting a cap on E-
Week, the Toothpick Bridge event had several students and families attend as
well as a couple of teachers that brought in bins of contestants that were not able
to. Seeing the kids’ reactions and pride from the results their bridges produced
could not have been done without the volunteers in attendance. The local engi-
neers I would like to recognize that were in attendance are Ben Quartermaine,
Tim Foushee, Molly Williams, John Eash, Jordan Corby, Clay Tappan and Mike
Elfers. Also for recognition, Tim Foushee had taken home the gold in the profes-
sional category. He will be able to etch his name on the long list already includ-
ing several of his previous entrees.
For an announcement, we will need to have selected at the end of this month the
annual branch award recipients. Please have all of your nominations in to one of
the branch officers so they will be included in this year’s review.
At the beginning of this month, we have kicked off our golf tournament planning.
With us a little over two months away, you will be hearing a lot about this as we
move along. As a reminder, all proceeds collected for the event will go towards
the cost for the event and then out towards our scholarship and education fund-
We are continuing to change our look to provide you more value. If you or your company is inter-ested in sponsoring your local ASCE Suncoast Branch Newsletter, please contact any of the Ex-ecutive Board Members.
