BY AN EMPLOYEEAbout Cisco, it's a big company and has its pros and cons. JC (John Chambers) CEO of Cisco Systems is a very nice person and his quote and my favourite one is "treat others like how you want to be treated". During tough economic times, when everyone was laying off employees, Cisco tried it's best not to. When projects had to be cancelled because they were no generating enough revenue - instead of laying those employees, they were re-aligned to other groups who were still hiring. Thus avoiding stress to the extent possible.
Each Business Unit (BU) operates as a small company. Vice President (VP) of the BU is responsible for handling the expenses based on the income. This gives VP a lot of room on where to align resources, etc.
Employees have flexible work schedules and can work remotely as needed. Con for this is, we are always hooked on to work :(
