offended if someone chooses not to shake hands with you during the Sign
of Peace. An appropriate gesture for those who are concerned about spreading the virus might be simple eye contact, or a smile or a wave, rather
than physical contact. The Archdiocese has advised that any of those gestures are appropriate due to
the intensity of corona virus .
HIS WORD TODAY by Rev. William J. Reilly
“Bear your share of hardship for the gospel with the strength that comes from God. He saved us and called us to a holy life, not according to our works but according to his own design and the grace bestowed on us in Christ Jesus before time began, but now made manifest through the appearance of our savior Jesus Christ.” The world of advertising and consumerism tells us what we need and cannot do without. How many things do I buy or work for are only for my convenience and or satisfaction. Lent is a time for our own buying spree. Salvation in Jesus Christ is something that I cannot do without. I speak of my need, our needs, today, and Jesus continues to support us. I want to make the same effort seeking His grace and the gift of salvation, as others do for some material thing. This Lent is my Lent to seek, ask and find. May this second week bring me what I need the most – His saving grace.
