Emerging findings: more variety is possible…

Multiple technologies, designs and

equipment types could meet Next Generation

Access approval criteria at affordable

prices for consumers

Superfast satellite should provide a

workable solution for the most remote

properties

Pilots won’t give us all the answers – more

good ideas out there. We continue to work

with a range of suppliers

...but commercial case can be challenging

While capable of rapid deployment, wireless is not necessarily the lowest cost solution in

all rural areas

Public subsidy required varies widely

and is highly dependent on

geography and technology

Take-up rates not yet known and will affect which areas can be

addressed with commercially

sustainable solutions

Emerging findings: alternative financing is making progress

Sources of alternative financing including

loan and social investment funding

are not well developed but...

 …standardised approaches being

developed as part of the Cybermoor pilot’s “broadband-in-a-box” toolkit have potential
