Objective

Problem & Hypothesis

The ability to perform on-site electronic assessments does not exist. This impacts the time and effort of the case work in re-entering information and risks erroneous information being entered.

Problem

Providing case workers with electronic tools and forms that can be used electronically will increase the time the case worker has with children, will support case management and will improve data quality.

Hypothesis

Solution Overview

• FACS, in partnership with Azeus, designed and developed a mobile application that can support social workers during home visits and other field work.

• The worker can view case information using the mobile app. 3G/4G-LTE and Wi-Fi networks can be used to synchronise data (using appropriate security settings) with the Case Management Server.

• The app has an offline mode so workers can access previously downloaded records in areas where there is no network connectivity.

• Workers can record Safety and Risk Assessment as well as Safety Plans using the mobile app.

Authentication is required to access the mobile app

not be sent immediately.

Instead when the

assessment and plan

records are synchronised

with the server, an offline

batch process will generate

the PDF version of the

assessment/plan and send

it via email attachment to

the intended recipients.
