Chatty Champion award - Bradyn Parfrement. Welcome back to Term 4 - Hi everyone, I trust we all had a safe and enjoyable holiday and spent some important family me together. We jump straight into a big term with lots of acvies, assessments, excursions, swim scheme and plenty more. A term calendar is aached to this newsleer. Please note that some dates may change and acvies added. From an academic perspecve Term 4 is extremely busy. Students will be compleng assessments, compleng important units of work, creang craſt, pracsing for our end of year carols and be introduced to new concepts in preparaon for next year. It is extremely important that your child aend school every day, if you know you may be away for any length of me please let your childs teacher know as soon as possible. 2020 Kinder Orientation Dates - This term we will be holding our 2020 Kinder orientaon days on : Wednesday October 23 - parent informaon session at 9:00am in the school library. Wednesday October 30 - 9:00am. Wednesday November 6 - 9:00am Wednesday November 13 - 9:00am with Iluka Pre-School aending. If you know of any families new to our area please let them know to call into the school office for more informaon. Harwood Sugar Mill Open day excursion - Next Tuesday aſternoon Years 5 & 6 will be vising the Harwood Island Sugar Mill as part of their open day acvies. Habitat Show - On Wednesday next week we will be joined by members from the school performance tours for a show tled Lets Chat Habitat ”. This is a fun and interacve performance designed to educate kids about the environment and local habitats. There is no cost for either of these acvies. School Hats - Please ensure that your child brings their school hat to school every day with their name inside. This term teachers will be extra vigilant with students who are not wearing their school hat and they will remain in shaded areas during playme and sport. Golf Clinics - This term we will connue with our golf clinics with golf pro Mark. The students thoroughly enjoyed last termslessons and these will connue for the next three weeks. There is no cost for these clinics. Morning Fitness - Morning fitness will recommence next week each Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. These exercises are important in developing core strength and gross motor skills. The whole school participates in this activity. Year 5/6 Excursion - Please ensure all fundraising money is returned ASAP so final invoices can be sent home. The excursion is only four weeks away and all information will be sent home this week. Word of the Week - Our word of the week is “application”. One of the meanings of the word application is: sustained effort and hard work. This is what we model, encourage and expect at Chatsworth Island Public School. Have a great week everyone and bring on Term 4!

Canteen News - This week the canteen will be open Wednesday Recess and Friday Lunch. Lunch on Friday is cheesy beef pasta bake with garlic bread. Volunteers this week are: Wednesday - Sian F and Lucy Friday - Renee Volunteer forms for the canteen were sent home last term for this term. Please return them ASAP or message me the days you can volunteer in the canteen on 0432 436 427. Cheers, Lucy
