Konyha to head OCRABill Konyha, President and CEO ofthe Economic Development Groupof Wabash County, will be the newdirector of the state's Office ofCommunity and Rural Affairs(OCRA).
Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermannannounced Konyha's Appointment WEdnesday morning duringthe Indiana Economic Forum in Indianapolis.
"OCRA's mission is to 'provide capacity-building solutionswhich assist Indiana's rural communities in pursuing economicgrowth and quality of place,'" Ellspermann said. "We areextremely pleased to have someone with Bill's experience ineconomic and community devlepment lead our OCRA team."
Konyha told the Plain Dealer he was first approached abouttaking the post about 18 months ago, but didn't. During aSeptember visit to Wabash to help the city celebrate it'srecognition as being a Stellar community, he continued,Ellspermann again approached him about filling the post, whichhad again become open.
