Founded in Tulsa in 1934, we now have clients with

and industry expertise to our clients. Our core business is insurance brokerage and risk management service. CFR has grown to be the largest independent broker in Oklahoma with more than 100 employees at office locations in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Throughout this growth process, our goal has not been to simply “transact” insurance placements – or to “sell” insurance. We view our value proposition as the ability to understand your business, evaluate your exposures, and work within your risk tolerance level to customize a risk management program that minimizes your total cost of risk.

Recognizing a need for businesses in our region to have more expertise from their insurance service provider, CFR created both a formal Risk Management Group and Health & Benefits Group to focus on more sophisticated risks that many larger companies face. CFR qualified for this status by ranking among the top performers in the annual Best Practices Study conducted by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA or the Big “I”) and Reagan Consulting.

The purpose of the Best Practices Study is to compile the operating statistics of the country’s leading agents and brokers. To achieve this objective, the agencies included

in the annual study must first be nominated for participation by an insurance carrier or an IIABA state affiliated association. The agency must then submit detailed financial and operational information which is analyzed, scored, and ranked objectively for inclusion in the study on the basis of operational excellence including growth, profitability, productivity and financial stability. Over 1,200 agencies from around the country were nominated in six revenue categories ranging from “Under $1.25 million” in annual revenue to “Over $25 million” in annual revenues. Of the 310 agencies submitting data, only 224 agencies scored high enough to qualify for inclusion.

Our growth into the Top 100 Property/Ca-sualty Independent Agencies (90th in 2007, 75th in 2008 to 71st in 2009) is due primarily to a commitment by CFR colleagues to take a radical approach to customer service. Three years ago we summed this up in the quote:

It’s never a convenient time for a claim. We also know some are much more urgent than others. With that in mind, you shouldn’t have to wait until business hours to get the process started. CFR has multiple methods for reporting non-urgent claims at all hours. For more urgent claims, we have experienced claims representatives on call to provide assistance immediately.

We have a wealth of tools that we can use to bring a claim to a full and final settlement rather than letting it continue indefinitely. Our claims department can sit in on file reviews, review claim notes, and review medical and legal documents pertaining to the claim.

By analyzing loss runs, we can benchmark trends such as type of injury, department, etc. This way, safety training and awareness can be targeted where needed most.
