Lineman could not discover the problem. Using a drone, it soon became apparent an “unlucky frog” had made contact on the top of an insulator sending it to the happy hunting ground for tree frogs! Just imagine how small a tree frog can be and to think all the trouble it caused. Often, we look for the big things to upset our lives but more likely it is those small things we never notice until they create havoc. The wise Solomon once warned about the little things in our lives. He said, “Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards, the vineyards that are in bloom” (Song of Solomon 2:15). Remember God is just as concerned about your little things as he is your big things. Just know, the little things can rob you of your power! Grace and peace, Pastor Mitch

I recently read an article in, Carolina Country where the power company had experienced intermittent outages in the South Mills area serviced by the Albemarle Electric Membership Coop.

The CUMW met on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, with 26 members present. Debbie opened with a blessing, and then we enjoyed a delicious meal. We did a couple Christmas activities. Members were reminded to sign up to be responsible for a monthly gathering. Also this was the last opportunity to vote for UMW lifetime membership pin. Secret prayer sisters were revealed and an ornament exchange. Fruit baskets were taken by members to be delivered. Names were drawn for secret prayer sisters for 2020. Ruby Combs closed with prayer. Audrey Wagner and her team are responsible for our January gathering. Respectfully Submitted, Debbie Williams, President Kim Craver, Secretary

The board met with 23 members present. Willie Everhart opened in prayer. Minutes were reviewed-motion to

Old Business No old business to review
Committee Reports Aaron Whitfield has his mission team together to go to Jamaica in January.
Question asked about a combined service the Sunday after Christmas-per response from the worship
committee, a combined service is not planned.
Trustees-Tommy Henderson discussed a letter from Southern Mutual insurance regarding concerns of open
candles in the church and the insurance company has suggested electronic candles. He hopes to have the
camera systems installed by the end of the year, but still waiting on some equipment. There is a problem with
the church sign on the west side with a red streak across the top part of the screen. Stewart Sign Company
will be sending a control board to be installed. The sign is under warranty until July 2020-Tommy suggested
an extended warranty for the sign if one is available. The filing cabinet in the choir room has been attached
to the wall and the bottom drawer has a file folder holder in place after it almost fell over. The drain lines in
the CFC kitchen warmers have been repaired with PEX fittings.
Molly Long presented for the parsonage committee that a new storm door was placed on the parsonage after
it was blown open by the wind and damaged the hinges. Mike Craver was able to replace the door.
New Business
Love offerings for Mitch Wilson and Eddie Evans are being taken up in the Sunday school classrooms and
will be given to them on December 22.

has been in the Administrative Board minutes and on the screen with announcements. Molly made the
motion that the chair of the finance committee (Mike Craver) make an announcement to the congregation. It
was seconded by Winnie McCrary. Vote held and motion carried.
Gary Brinkley expressed his appreciation for all the help he has had while being chair of the administrative
board. Expressed gratitude to Marlene Wood for the finance reports, Cindy for being secretary, Tommy
