July 2011 Cebu 2 You Greetings from Cebu. FINALLY, I am back. It is great to be writing to you from my home, with my family, the flock God has entrusted to me and my babies (3 dogs). My homecoming was great as my family, the Youth and the Young adults from the church met me at the airport after midnight and escorted me home. The next day I was summoned to the church where many of the members and children greeted me with songs, dance and personal comments on how much they missed me and how much they love me. My wife sang to me and almost all were brought to tears at this sweet time of fellowship. I am blessed.

Greetings from Cebu.

FINALLY, I am back. It is

great to be writing to you

from my home, with my

family, the flock God has

entrusted to me and my

babies (3 dogs).

My homecoming was great as

my family, the Youth and the

Young adults from the church

met me at the airport after

midnight and escorted me

home.

The next day I was summoned

to the church where many of the

members and children greeted

me with songs, dance and

personal comments on how

much they missed me and how

much they love me.

My wife sang to me and almost

all were brought to tears at this

sweet time of fellowship. I am

blessed.

SPECIAL EDITION

I want this to be a special edition where I will mention a few church updates but I want to give

God the glory for the healing that took place in my body over the last 4 and ½ months.

On February 6 I arrived in the states ready to hit the ground running with speaking

engagements, ready to build support for our church and for our sponsorship program, but as

always, “God’s plans are not our plans and our plans are not His plans”.

Upon arrival I visited my longtime doctor, Doctor Kyan and was told I needed immediate

medical attention for my diabetic ulcers and as it turned out, for infections in the bones of my

left foot.

Dr. Kyan sent me to UCLA Medical Center emergency for analysis of my condition. Many

doctors examined me and most concluded that I would lose at least 2 toes and probably my leg.

I prayed and asked the Lord to save my leg but whatever had to be, I was ready. My prayer

was to do whatever and return me to my wife and ministry ASAP.

The Lord brought me a vascular surgeon who was different. She looked at my leg, my reports,

my MRI and said she would like a chance to clean up the “ugliness” that was my leg and to try

to improve circulation enough to save my leg and “maybe” take only 1 toe.

She began by scraping a lot of dead skin off the leg and running tests on my circulation. After a

couple of days she scheduled me for an angiogram at St. Johns Hospital in Santa Monica. While

doing this surgery she felt I had a vein that could be widened to improve blood flow and did and

Angioplasty which was successful. The next day she decided to amputate my “great” toe and

when I inquired why not both toes that had bone infections, she said she felt she could save one.

In a follow-up visit to her office she introduced me to Walter, the program director for

Hyperbaric treatments at UCLA and he said I was a good candidate for the program.

In the next 7 weeks I went to UCLA five days a week to be in a Hyperbaric Chamber for 2 hours

a day. After 21 treatments I had a new MRI and the OstrioMilitias (spelling) was gone. No more

infection. During all of this time my 9 diabetic ulcers that I had became 3 and are at this time

over90% closed.

The doctor was great, Walter did a great job along with others at UCLA in wound care but the

ultimate fact is God healed me. The bone infection was supposed to be almost incurable

according to medical reports. The ulcers were too far gone to heal and almost every doctor I saw

in the Philippines and the States said I would lose at least 2 toes and probably my leg. They

said once the infection I had was set in, “there was NO HOPE”.

My hope was in Jesus and my Savior healed me. Share with me in giving the Praise, Glory and

Honor to our King. Medicine is great but Jesus is better.

I still have my leg and 4 of my toes. The next time someone says miracles are not for today tell

them my story. I still have my leg, It’s a Miracle. Thank you Jesus!
