This catalog is the end result of a process, that can be traced back to the start of the new millenium, when the very same group of riders, who to this day remain at the head of RAM Bikes as a company, still struggle with the lack of high-quality, well balanced bikes, designed with the serious rider in mind, on the Bulgarian market. A little initiative, a lot of hard work, and almost 10 years of bike build-ing experience later, we can proudly announce our 2011 line up.

We believe that somewhere between the covers of these catalog, you’ll be able to find Your bike. Because this ain’t no ordinary catalog, much in the same way RAM bikes are not the ordinary, “yet another” kind of bicycles. Besides photos, specs, and inspiring descriptions, on these pages we’ve printed our trailside know-how, about what works and what doesn’t. It comes as our promise to you for some good times out on the trails with your RAM bike.

You can often hear us say that it sucks having to hike back to civilization because somebody tried to make your bike cheaper, rather than better. But a bike that’s just good doesn’t quite cut it. You need Your Bike. The bike which fits your style, body and preferences, and makes everything easier. Finding that bike can be a difficult task, so let’s start on it right away.

An American corporation which runs four brands - SRAM, ROCKSHOX, AVID and TRUVATIV, offering the most complete package of compo-nents, designed to coexist and work well together. Offering non-stop innovation and some of the best solutions out there today is SRAM - the brand used for drivetrain components like chains, derailleurs, shifters, cassettes, etc..

A leading manufacturer of suspension components, and a part of the SRAM corporation. They produce some of the hottest forks and rear shocks out on the market today - their product range covers all types of riding and offers a unique mix of low weight, high performance, extensive adjustments and supreme durability.

Makers of some of the best brakes on the market and members of the SRAM corporation. Whether you’re looking at V-brakes, mechanical disc brakes or hydraulics, it doesn’t matter - Avid offers top performance in every case, with the ability to precisely control your speed and safely come to a stop whenever you have to.

Wheels without compromises - an all too familiar policy, carried out by the french rim/wheelset maker MAVIC, who are undisputedly the leading brand in that category. Their products offer an excellent mix of weight and durability.

An innovative and brave company, which has undertaken the chal-lenge of introducing a viable alternative to typical chain-based drivetrain systems. We think their carbon belt drive system deserves much credit, and has the right to be a part of every commuting bicycle, thanks to it’s unique advantages for this type of application.

It says a lot to be the tire brand of choice for all elite racers, even the ones sponsored by other brands. The best option for all cases in which traction and rolling characteristics matter, regardless of discipline or terrain.

Cranks, stems, bars, pedals and seatposts - these are the specialties of TRUVATIV, members of the SRAM corporation. High-tech precision manufacturing gives your low weight, excellent durability and comfort on the components, which provide the contact points between you and your bike.

RAM bikes are built with a well thought over mix of some of the best components for each bike’s specific purpose, provided by some of the most advanced, high quality and innovative brands in the world. Their reputation is a guarantee for our quality.

OUR PARTNERSA young american company, offering an innovative approach to bicycle seat/seatpost systems. Replacing the traditional metal rails with a polycarbonate I-beam profile, SDG produce seatposts and saddles with unique characteristics - super low weight, optimal strength and extended adjustability range.

FORMULA hubs are proven with time - they offer a rich assortment of models, suitable for all types of riding. The company utilizes reliable bearings, precision freewheel mechanisms and high-quality quick release levers, which make it a natural choice for a RAM Bikes hub provider.

Manufacturer of highest quality cables, housings and accessories. Be-sides innovative technologies like laminated cables and kevlar housing, JAGWIRE products have the advantage of looking good, which makes them that special finishing touch for your bicycle.

One of the leading manufacturers of handlebars, and high-tech integrated stems for gravity riding - most products of the company offer sizing, geometry and design that are way ahead of their time.

Another company on the rise - featured on budget-minded models in the RAM line-up, the brand deserves recognition for it’s efforts for building a reputation - although still not on the same level as leading brands like ROCKSHOX, SUNTOUR forks offers some of the best value in their category.

A brand that embodies all the sayings for swiss-made precision and proves them as true. Spokes and hubs of the highest quality - they are our guarantee for bringing light weight and optimal strength to your wheels.

This french company is the reason RAM bikes have wheels, hand built to the highest standards, trued on computerized truing stands, featuring precision of up to 1/100th of a milimeter. Besides high-end wheel building equipment, MACH1 supplies RAM with quality budget-minded rims and spokes, which can be found on a select few models.

The last few years saw the rise of E.THIRTEEN chainguides to the point of being the standard in the world of downhill, four cross, and freeride bikes. The top choice for all elite riders needing a chain retention device.

Having to stop once more for somebody to wrench on their bike, you start to become annoyed at your riding partners. This is your only day off in a while, and you don’t want to lose valuable riding time juggling with allen keys. Thankfully, ever since you’ve bought your RAM HT.ONE you don’t even know where you keep your multi-tool anymore. You could’ve bought that other, cheaper bike - you didn’t and you’re happy with your decision, but now you might have to think about changing your riding buddies.

This is the bike that introduced “reliability” as a term in the class of budget-minded crosscountry hardtails. The difference with similar bikes from other manufacturers is not really apparent... until they start breaking down. HT.ONE is proven with time and it won’t let you down - there are numerous cases of people riding their bikes for years without the need of anything else besides normal wear & tear like tires and brake pads. We use components entirely from high-profile manufacturers and we make sure the build kits are perfectly balanced - there are no shiny, attention-grabber components, and cheap no-name parts everywhere else on the bike. That’s our way of eliminating weak spots and keeping you out of the repair shops.

Another weekend, another ride. Last week it was two days of epic riding with a night of camping up in the mountains, this time it’s wait-ing for your buddies on a sunny saturday morning for a leisurely ride near town, and then who knows what else on sunday. Thinking about your options, you never even have to consider the limitations of your bike, cause there are hardly any. You are limited only to being tired from the day before, and the amount of daylight you have at your disposal at this time of the year. Your HT.TWO is ready to take you on any kind of adventure.

This is a bike with almost chameleon-like adaptivity - it blurs borders and blends categories together with its immense capabilities. Cross-country by design, allmountain by nature; excellent performance and great value. The awesome geometry and perfect strength to weight ratio of the HT.TWO frame make it a tough backbone and a flexible platform at the same time - it lets you use the bike for anything from XC racing to recreational riding all over the mountain. For 2011 HT.TWO offers four very different built kits - from the basic HT2.1 to the advanced super light-weight and high performance HT2x10 X9. The two 2x10 builds introduce SRAM’s innovative drivetrain system with two chainrings up front and a ten-speed cassette in our HT series - drivetrain innovations have never been more affordable.

Rapid heartbeat, uphill, heavy breathing. You look forward - forward and upward. There’s still a long way to go to the top... Only once you’re there you really start riding. This doesn’t scare you - you know you’re not carrying any excess weight with you, your equipment is optimised to perfection. Your XC.ONE takes you up meter by meter, turn after turn, with a feeling of ease and precision, and you steadily gain elevation. You look ahead once more, you shift to a heavier gear, you stand up on the pedals and start cranking - you can’t wait to be at the top.

The heavy artillery in the category of lightweight crosscountry hardtails. A bike, based on a high-tech and super light weight hardtail frame, made of XTROLITE aluminum alloy. With a weight of only 1.2kg it is the perfect platform to build an elegant and agile high performance XC bike. Until now all the build kits have been accordingly intended as high-performance, but from 2011 the XC.ONE be-comes even more accessible with two value-minded builds - XC1.2 and XC1.3. They both form a nice enough crosscountry package, while the XC.ONE frame has enough potential to grow with the rest of the bike, as you modify and upgrade it.

Waking up for yet another day in the mountains during a multi-day epic can be quite hard, when your body aches and you’re facing another 10 hours of bouncing around on rocks and roots. Thankfully, you’re equipped with 100mm of perfectly controlled rear wheel travel, which give you life saving comfort, traction that hardtail riders can only dream of, and a reason to wake up well motivated despite aching muscles.

Awarded number one in it’s category by MountainBikingUK magazine in a comparison test of full suspension cross country bikes, the XC.TWO offers perfectly laid back geometry, 100mm of rear wheel travel, and a large variety of build kits. V-brakes on the cheaper build kits are now history - they’re replaced by the excellent Avid Juicy 3 hydraulic disc brakes. The high performance XC2.1 build kit offers the advantages of the hottest drivetrain technology, featuring 2 chainrings on the front and a 10-speed cassette - SRAM’s 2x10.

Your riding buddies give you weird looks as you show up on the trailhead dressed in baggy shorts and a loose jersey, instead of keeping the formal dress code of skin-tight lycra. During the climbs you manage to keep up with the rest of the group, but then when the trail start pointing down you leave them all behind and get caught in having fun railing turns and pumping the terrain to catch the occasional air as they clamp down on their brakes in fear. Because regular XC bikes just don’t cut it.

125mm of rear wheel travel, low weight and a fun newschool geometry turn this bike into something much more than just a typical full suspension XC trailbike. Forks with travel of up to 140mm on three out of four build kits indicate that the NDURO is heavily biased towards delivering fun by the tons, instead of getting you up that boring uphill section as easily as possible. The build kits are mainly based on high-performance components, but this year we’ve decided to offer additional value-minded components as well.

You consider the mountain to be a place without borders or boundaries. Accordingly, you don’t like to put limits on your own riding - regardless if you’re riding up or down, your goal is to have fun at any time, anywhere on the mountain, without having to put up with limited travel, weak brakes, or a heavy bike. You like to ride fast and aggressive, and you choose your backpack by the ability to strap your kneepads on for the uphill.

RAM ALLMTN offers abilities, that usually require buying at least two entirely different bikes. When the trail points uphill, the bike rides like a much lighter, shorter travel machine, and when you reach the downhill part of your ride, you discover an entirely different aspect of your bike, which suddenly loves being ridden fast and aggressive. 150mm of travel front and back with excellent adjustability, power-ful brakes, and the latest in drivetrain technology. A variety of build kits and perfectly matched components turn the ALLMTN into one of our best selling bikes ever.

One gear, a pair of knee pads, a full set of rakes and shovels, your RAM 4130 and a lot of airtime. Flow. Rhythm. Piles of dirt, shaped into perfectly curved surfaces, connected by your imagination and riding ability. Hot summer afternoons, spent trying to defy gravity. Evening after work sessions. A bike which has the strength and geometry to disappear as a factor for your riding.

4130 is the end result of a process of mountain bikes evolving towards territory, which until recently was the realm of 20” bikes. Based on 26” wheel size, the frame is designed with a progressive geometry, optimal strength and capabilties to run either V-brakes or discs; singlespeed or geared. The standard build kits are intended to provide a solid and reliable platform for all levels of riders. The more expensive 4130.1 comes with parts, good enough to last you for a while even if you’re riding at a high level, and the budget-minded 4130.2 comes with parts, selected for basic reliability at a minimal cost.

Riders ready... watch the gate... Go! Cranking hard, going through gears as you gain speed, still banging elbows with the others. You pump the first section of rollers to gain extra speed, then hold an aggressive line in the berm and get ready for the first big jump. Your FOUR.X follows your inputs with razor-sharp precision, letting you ride full speed shoulder to shoulder with full confidence. And that’s just what you need for the win.

The new FOUR.X frame is special - it’s designed from scratch, based on the input and experience of UK’s pro 4x racer Martin Ogden. A true racing legend with decades of racing behind his back Oggy’s the best person to ask for advice when designing a 4X frame - the result is a bike which feels right at home on tracks with jumps, berms and rollers. A low bottom bracket, super low weight and angles, designed around the aggressive nature of four cross, makes it a perfect racing weapon. There are two build kits - one, suitable for serious racing, and a budget-minded version, aimed at beginners with all the benefits of a pro designed frame, without the added cost of high performance components.

DOWNHILL / FREERIDE

You love this feeling - the sense of balance between the force of gravity and gaining momentum, between rough terrain and the finesse of your movements, between staying totally calm and exploding with aggression on technical parts of the trail. Your mind and your instincts are your talent, and your bike is your weapon. The goal - perfect union between you, your bike, and the laws of physics, which ultimately let you keep the rubber side down. Gravity, inertia, traction. Total control even in out-of-control situations.

The RAM labs are working overtime to bring you our new FR/DH frame. It’s gonna cover all your gravity needs - from racing to riding gnarly lines in remote locations, it’s gonna be the ultimate weapon for going down a mountain. For ultimate adjustability it includes fea-tures to allow you to tweak the head angle, bottom bracket height, chainstay length and travel to exactly match your needs and prefer-ences. Advanced features will be rear Maxle compatibility, adjustable bearing system and singlecrown fork clearance (think barspins!). Geometry and sizing are in tune with today’s tendency for fast, steep and gnarly courses, which require big, stable bikes. So there you have it - slack angles, long toptubes and wide handlebars.

A road bicycle is the most efficient form of transport, known to man. The thrill of riding a machine with nearly 100% efficiency comes mainly from knowing that you are the engine. Lungs, blood circulation system and muscles, instead of fuel, pistons and valves - and despite having much lower power, you manage to sustain speeds, which are usually associated with motorized vehicles. Looking at cars driving by, you take another sip out of the water bottle, and continue to spin at a steady RPM.

Road cycling is one of the most high-tech disciplines - requirements towards bikes are enormous. RAM ROAD delivers on all accounts - super light weight XTROLITE aluminum frame, carbon fibre fork, top-notch performance from Maxxis tires, lightweight and aerody-namic wheels from Mavic, and a high-performance build with parts from leading brands in the industry. Three build kit levels with road groupsets from SRAM - the american company quickly grew to become the leading brand in road cycling with innovative products and victories at Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and lots of other major races. The very same technology is featured on even the cheapest version of RAM ROAD.

Ten minutes to go before you start being late for work, and you’re still a long way from the office. The boulevard you’re on looks more like a parking lot - the traffic jam is immense. You take a quick glance over your shoulder and move one lane to the right. Narrow bars let you move between traffic and parked cars, while the powerful brakes give you the confidence to ride without worry in the heaviest traffic. As traffic eases for a bit you accelerate smoothly to a speed, which makes all drivers around you envious. Your RAM CT.ONE delivers you to the office on time and without trouble once more.

A commuting bike needs to have three things - simplicity, efficiency and reliability. CT.ONE has all of them. The combination of a clas-sic AL6061 aluminium frame and a rigid fork is proven with time, and the GATES CARBON DRIVE system offers unique advantages over traditional chain-based drivetrains - double the lifespan, half the weight, none of the greasiness and zero maintainance efforts. In case a fully rigid chain-driven bike seems too hardcore, we offer an additional build kit with a SUNTOUR suspension fork, and SRAM VIA geared drivetrain. Both build kits offer hydraulic disc brakes by AVID and specially designed commuting tires by MAXXIS, which guarantee low rolling resistance and reliable braking in all conditions.

bASIC ADJUSTMENTSSTEP 4The staff at your local RAM dealer will help you get started with the initial basic adjustments on your bicycle and it’s components. They will set up your bike to fit your body and preferences. Buying from an authorized RAM dealer guarantees you’ll be paid enough attention, as your dealer checks the following:

- Seat height and alignment

- Handlebar alignment

- Brake levers and shifters adjustment

- Suspension adjustments - fork and rear shock

- Optimal tire pressure

- Spinning the pedals, you extend your legs almost completely.

- Your weight is distributed comfortably and evenly between your seat and the handlebars.

- Your suspension sags about 20-25% from available travel when you’re in a riding position on your bike.

- Your brake levers are positioned in a way, which allows you to use them with only one finger.
