Bart lens needed a large lamp that would

create an encircling sphere o light above

the conerence table in their ofce, and so

began the search. Ater a long and ruitless

quest, he fnally decided to design his own

mega-light with the sphere o a dome.

The result has been likened to a Calimero

dome, a giant bell, a hal moon.

Everybody seems to have a dierent name

or it.

People have always been ascinated by the

light o a perect circle. The returning ull

moon and the natural phenomena ascribed

to it (higher childbirth percentage, ertility,

transormation rom human to animal, etc.),

the archetypical orm o a UFO, the shape

o a gong, the sun are but a ew striking

examples.

Despite its shape o a ull circle (ull

moon), the lamp can be used in several

positions: horizontally, diagonally, obliquely

or vertically (ool moon). Thanks to

its large dimensions, the lamp is easily

recognisable and has the possibility o

demarcating or creating spaces. The lamp

also has a highly symbolic value due to its

imposed abstraction.

i-light is a thin, hanging tubular light fxture

with an incorporated LED-light. The small

loose-hanging chrome-plated sphere

creates an unusual light and shadow play.

The lamp can be used as trim lights,

hanging lights, or when several are

combined as a chandelier. When the

tubes are hung low, the reection o the

chrome-plated rods produces a starry sky

eect.

Perhaps symptomatic o an architectsmindset, the lamps and objects are

becoming increasingly space defning.

The xxxl(amp) is essentially a attened

dome, inspired by the shape o a Chinese

lantern. The twelve-segment construction

makes the connection with the lantern, but

a pumpkin is perhaps the frst association

that comes to mind, while the suspension

system recalls an upside-down hot-air

balloon.I the ceiling is high, but not overly high,

the lamp can be hung at about 1.50m. As

befts any impressive space, youll want to

enter with a slight bow. Once seated at the

dining or conerence table, youll still retain

a sense o the surroundings beyond the

boundary.

Hanging a hal or a quarter xxxl(amp) in a

mirrored room creates an impression o

spacious rooms ull o giant lanterns.

The design o this large-scaled lamp is

pure and back to basic and so the SO 1

really leaves nobody untouched. Made in

PE (polyethylene) by rotational moulding,

this large lamp ( height 1m40 ) can be

used inside as well as outside. Build-in

in ceiling or wall, lying on the oor or just

hanging in the room. Outside used as

street light ( with a post ) or as lighting

accent in the garden.

The use o this lighting-object will give an

extra accent to rooms, spaces, streets and

public parcs.

cover our summer terrace. The steel

Ass-3, ashtray and ass-tree: the remnant

o a allen tree or tree-stump is used

as the archetype o a bench (ass and

tree), taken to the abstract extreme as

a cylindrical container with leg-shaped

recesses that, oddly enough, oer the

ultimate sitting comort. Its recesses

resemble an ashtray, 3 reers to the thirdchair o Lensass.

The art o sitting is rediscovered or

experienced through the geometrical

orm, the white color and the ambiguous

materials. The double ass3 allows you

to sit either ace-to-ace or back-to-back,

depending on whether you are eeling

interested, disinterested or conversational.

To fnd a white air mattress that fts our

white summer terrace, one that can easily

be stacked and handled, we sought the

help o our riend Steven Brouns. He

produced the frst sketches or designs

in coated oam. Steven created an extra

value to the design by using recto-

verso orms, which together made up

a rectangular volume. Combined, theorms unction as a settee or a bench

or massages or rubbing suntan lotion

onto each other. Once opened up, the

orms naturally lie opposite each other.

The apparently massive blocks are really

lightweights, and can be easily handled

by anyone. Both orms, a Z and a sot S

shape, can easily be placed side by side.
