To provide a simple method of recovering data from software damaged hard-disk (unbootable hard disk) using Linux bootable CD

To build a centralised database of impoverished state citizens with minimum costs and maintenance

capacities equivalent to popular proprietary alternatives No limit on number of connections or user registrations,

enabling more users to benefit from the system while reducing cost

and shared to support agency needs

Software (OpenOffice.org) Objective

OpenOffice.org as the office productivity suite for all PCs Highlights

Started in 2003, over 2200 PCs deployed to date with OpenOffice.org and 1913 staff trained

Savings allowed agencies to increase procurement of PCs and ICT hardware

Limited spread of viruses that were prevalent with MS Word documents
