Two main capital markets in India:

o BSE – Market Cap of 66 lac crores o NSE - Market Cap of 55 lac crores (as of Aug 2010)

The power to regulate stock exchanges delegated to SEBI by the Government, SEBI Act 1992.

FDI allowed in stock broking, asset management companies, merchant banking and other non- bank finance companies .

FII allowed to access to Indian capital markets on registration with SEBI.
