CAMP 2020 Meet Our Staff DD Gass: J Camp Director DD has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She has been working in camps for over 40 years. This will be her 7th summer as J Camp Director. Barry Birkmeyer: J Camp Assistant Director I am the Assistant Director of J Camp and this will be my 8th summer working at Camp. Summer is my favorite time of year. I enjoy playing most all sports especially baseball, football and basketball. GO CHIEFS!!! Katie Sutton: Program Director Hi! This will be my 3rd summer at J Camp. I enjoy playing games with my family and friends, walking my dog, and reading. Looking forward to another fun summer! Rachel Bolter: Camp Office Manager I have been working for J Camp since 2013! I was a counselor and director of Ma’asim Tovim before becoming Office Manager in 2016. Now, I work year-round for J Camp while also getting my Master of Arts in Counseling at UMKC. Geoffrey Abrams: Junior Counselor Hello everyone! My name is Geoffrey Abrams. I am a junior at Blue Valley North and have worked at Barney Goodman for the last two summers. I love to read and listen to music with family and friends. I can’t wait to start camp and see everyone! Madeline Abrams: Senior Counselor Hey guys! My name is Madeline Abrams and I am a recent graduate of Blue Valley North High School. I will be heading to the University of Kansas this fall. I have been working at Barney Goodman for the last two summers and cannot wait to see you all in a few weeks! Tracy Anderson: Triathlon Camp Director I have been the Tri Camp director for 9 years. Rachel Elyachar: Art Camp DirectorDuring the school year, I am an art teacher at Blue Valley North High School. This will be my third year as Art Camp Director at J Camp! I took a hiatus last summer to have my twin girlies, and I’m so excited to be back!

Elle Jorgensen: ParaMy name is Elle Jorgensen and I am a para at J-Camp. I am going into my senior year at Emporia State University as a history major with a minor in political science. I have two cats that I absolutely adore and I am so excited to be working at J-Camp again this year!

I teach Middle School Vocal Music in the Blue Valley School District, am the Artistic Director of the non-profit Kansas City A Cappella, and serve as the Director of Music for The Kirk of Kansas City. I enjoy attending live entertainment around town!
