NATURAL WONDERS TOUR ARGENTINA DECEMBER 12th TO DECEMBER 19thAdittional 3rd week visiting Natural Wonders of Iguazú Waterfalls and Glaciers in Patagonia.

The Iguazú National Park is located near Puerto Iguazú, Province of Misiones. The Iguazú River, which means “big water” in the Guaraní language, is 1,500 meters wide and flows into the Paraná River. The Iguazú National Park features an area of the Paranaense Rainforest ecoregion, and has the greatest biodiversity of the country. At each level of the forest strata, a great variety of fauna live. Caí monkeys, coatis, serelepe squirrels, toucans, fruit trees of varying colors, noisy magpies, and sometimes a margay can be seen at the top of trees or at lower heights. In 1984, the Iguazú National Park was declared World Heritage by UNESCO to protect its environment. In November 11, 2011, Iguazú Falls were chosen as one of the World’s Natural Wonders. In 2013, UNESCO distinguished Iguazú National Park once again for its Exceptional Universal Value, being a site of such extraordinary cultural and natural value transcending national borders, a site of value for humanity’s present and future generations.

Los Glaciares National Park is an area of exceptional natural beauty, with rugged, tow-ering mountains and numerous glacial lakes, including Lake Argentino, which is 160 km long. At its farthest end, three glaciers meet to dump ice and rock into the milky grey glacial water, launching massive icebergs into the lake with thunderous splashes. It is the best place in South America to see glaciers in action. The overwhelming beauty of the landscape is epitomized where the Perito Moreno Glacier meets Lake Argentino. The vast front of the slowly and constantly moving glacier, up to 60 metres high, regularly calves bluish icebergs into the waters of Lake Argentino, an audiovisual spectacle attracting visitors from all over the world.
