SIMPLY ADD UP THE POST SEASON NUMBERS:

In D72’s 4 seasons as a District, We have MORE Section 9 Championships than any other District in our Section.

*******************In 2009, CNLL SR’s went to the SR Western Regionals.

In 2010 D72 advanced 4 out of 5 teams to Sub Division.In 2011 CNLL 9/10’s and WCLL JR’s advanced to Sub-Division.

******************More and More Leagues are winning District,

getting into Section 9 Sub-Division, and Division Tournaments.Western Region is getting closer and closer!!

EACH LEAGUE has more of a vested interest in this Districts Post Season tournament program than you may realize

2011 ALL STAR TOURNAMENT GAMES,Corona National LL participated in over 23 games

West Corona LL participated in over 20 gameswhile BOTH having teams advance into Division III Sub-Division.

*********EVLL, NLL, JALL, JNLL, WCLL, CNLL & CALL

all have had teams in Dist All-Star Championshipgames and in Section 9 games in either SB or BB,

during our first 4 seasons as a District.

The batter-runner may turn left or right, provided that if he turns left he does not make an attempt to advance. An attempt is a judgment made by the umpire. The requirement is that the runner

must immediately return to first after over running or over sliding the base.

There are no exceptions as to how the BR obtained first base

(hit, walk, error, or dropped third strike).

A strike is a judgment call by the umpire as to whether the batter

attempted to strike the ball. Breaking the wrists, or the barrel of the bat crossing the plate are simply

guides to making the judgment of the attempt; these are not rules.

ball.

There is nothing foul about a foul tip.If the ball nicks the bat and goes

sharp and direct to the catcher’s hand or glove and is caught, this is foul tip by definition. A foul tip is a

STRIKE and the ball is alive and in play.

other reason is nullified. The next batter, is the one who follows

the proper batter who was called out.

IT IS THE JOB OF THE UMPIRES TO CHECK TEAM EQUIPMENT PRIOR TO EACH

GAME.

BOARD MEMBERS and LEAGUE OFFICIALS it is the job of every umpire to

check equipment of both teams prior to each game officiated.

If they are not doing so, you must hold them accountable. If they are paid umpires, why are you paying them for an incomplete job that risks the safety of

your players?

As long as the fielder is not touching the ground in dead ball territory

when he catches the ball, it is a legal catch if he holds onto the ball and

meets the definition of a catch.

If he swung at the pitch, a strike is called (NOT A FOUL).

If he was avoiding the pitch, he is awarded first base.
