Impact of the San Francisco earthquake. In October 1989 the Pacific plate suddenly moved

so vigorously past the north of the San Andreas Fault.

The Earthquake’s impact was mostly felt in Santa Cruz mountains just south of San Francisco.

Mainly the people were killed by fires which were started by gas explosions and wooden houses spread it more.

Businesses lost lots of money and there were disruption on roads as well because of all the destruction as people tried to flee from the half destroyed cities.
