All welcome. Don’t forget your Christmas Jumper! 6 pm Community Interest Company Orchestra Performance at Oathall Community College Friday 12 December Junior Choir singing at 11 am at Holy Trinity Church. 2.45 pm Infant and Junior Choir performance to Choir Parents in the hall. Storyteller in KS1. 12-14 December Cuckfield Christmas Tree Festival – come and see the Bolnore Community Tree! Wednesday 17 December – Elf Day. Please note that, following feedback from parents, we will be operating a deadline and a ‘names out of a hat’ for popular clubs. Children who were put on a waiting list for this term will be offered a place next term. Whilst we appreciate that these changes may cause some concern with parents, we feel it would be fairer to all going forward. A great many families took up the challenge on Thursday after school of unlocking the QR treasure chest! The competitive edge of many parents shone through, which coupled with the maths strategies exhibited by their children led to success all round. A devious mind had placed clues under, over and even in between things, however he was outwitted as clue after clue was found and much fun ensued! Well done to all those who took part, more to come in the New Year! Well done to all the Reception children and the Reception Staff for their magnificent Nativity Performance. We were all so impressed with how well the children had learnt their words and knew the songs. Thank you to everyone who helped with supplying costumes and getting ready. On Tuesday 2 nd December, Meredith and I (Aoife) went to the first ever SALT Locality Book Battle, here at Bolnore run by Miss Waters. Six other children from different schools came to ours to debate over our books. For the first half, we had the intensifying heats and both of us did exceedingly well against all the other students and after debating long and hard… Meredith got through to the Semi- Finals! She went versus a boy who was doing David Walliams’ book Awful Auntie. However, with her epic debating skills, Meredith brought My sister Jody to victory! In the last round, the Final, she went head to head with Anne of Green Gables… The opposition was very good but Meredith won against her! So, overall, the afternoon was fun and thoroughly enjoyable. I did well and Meredith brought our school to victory! Hooray for our lovely ooray for our lovely ooray for our lovely ooray for our lovely Lollipop Lollipop Lollipop Lollipop Lad Lad Lad Lady (Sorry, Road Crossing Patrol Person). Katie has already made such a big difference to the safety of our children outside the school. Traffic is slower and there is a defined place to cross. Thank you to West Sussex County Council for all their help in getting this in place for us. Mrs Ottaway and her team of Eco- Warriors have been working hard. Having successfully submitted their evidence, we have been awarded a Silver Eco-Schools Award. Well done! We’re making great strides with our PE! Our four House Captains went along to collect our Bronze Mark Certificate at a presentation by Sainsbury’s School Games. This demonstrates our commitment to and development of PE, sports clubs and competitions. The children were thrilled to meet Olympic Water Polo Captain, Craig Figes. Behaviour Rewards Some parents have expressed dissatisfaction with our treasure box little treats given out to reward good behaviour over time. These are only a token; we feel that it is the praise given around the prize by all of us that makes the difference to a child. Thank you for your help with this. We’re always happy to hear of ideas for rewards. On Wednesday Mr Morley led the KS1 and KS2 children in a drumming performance to showcase all the skills they have learnt this term. There was some amazing body percussion, brilliant rhythmic chanting and great drumming! We even had some parents join in too! Thank you to Mr Morley, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for next term. If any parents would like to help with music lessons please speak to Mrs Hancock.

I cried all afternoon! – Parent after watching the Reception Nativity.

A great many families took up the challenge on Thursday after school of unlocking the QR treasure chest!

The competitive edge of many parents shone through, which

coupled with the maths strategies exhibited by their children led to

success all round. A devious mind had placed clues under, over and even in between things, however
