Mahajan 9212964222 9818263671 8527154468 9015916202 9810042458 BVP Delhi (South) had started Elocution (Declamation) Contest in January, 2013 for which there was a very encouraging response. This year the Prant embarked upon a more ambitious plan and decided to organize not only Declamation Contest but also Essay Writing Competition. Shri K. B. Mahajan, Vice President (Baal Sanskar) took the challenge to coordinate the event across BVP Delhi (South). And he did it very successfully and effectively. The subject for both the contests was “Relevance of Moral Values in the Present Context”. Anticipating the response the State was divided into 3 Unit (details were published in the last issue of VIKAS SANDESH) under the charge of coordinators (Smt. Promila Grover & Ms. Lily for South Zone), Smt. Deepshikha Dandu and Shri K. B. Mahajan for West Zone). Initially the response was lukewarm but as the Coordinators stepped up their efforts with the cooperation of the branches in the respective areas, response picked up. As many as 34 schools from all over the Prant got connected with us. A total of 269 participants came forward for both the competitions. The biggest satisfaction has been that among the participating schools 8 were from Dwarka alone. The branch organized 2 dental camps in the adopted Sewa Basti. 37 were the beneficiaries.
Closing ceremony of st1 session of the Bal Sanskar camp for 2014-
15 was organized on 13.7.2014. Sh. J.R. Gupta was the chief guest who blessed the children advising them to put in practice whatever they have learnt here. Out of the whole lot 33 children were selected to
deserve for special awards of T Shirts each. The second such session was started on the very next Sunday attended by 35 children. Shri H.P.S. Verma, a yoga specialist in-charge of the camps threw light briefly on the aims and objects of the camps laying stress on punctuality and regularity.
3 such camps from 10 AM to 5PM were th thorganized at Ashirwad Banquet Hall from 18 to 20 June 2014
focusing on all round development of the children by holding different types of competition, talks and yoga. In these camps children were blessed by Shri Virender of SwedshiChikitsa, Shri G S Bhardwaj President of BVP Delhi (South), Shri M.K. Wadhwa, Gen. Secy., B.L. Parashar and Mrs. Meena Thakur to name a few out of other functionaries of Parishad.
Help in the form of provisions and other necessary items needed for the marriage was given to Kumari Bharati D/O Smt. Radha of B-707, JJ Colony, Uttam Nagar as a token of our humble contribution.
th18 Annual Function of the branch was organized in ththe Hall of Shri Hari Mandir of A Block Janakpuri on 20 July, the
Sunday. Shri B.L. Parashar, Working President of Santan Dharma, Delhi presided. Shri Ajay Jindal was chief guest and Shri R.A. Agarwal Patron of the Branch and social activist was the special invitee. The programme started at sharp 5 pm with deep Prajavalan by all the luminaries present in this auspicious occasion. Shri S.P. Bhatia, Advisor, in his brief address highlighted the various activities of the branch. Besides all our colleagues whose birthday falls in July were specially honoured with shawls and garlands. Performance of the children dressed as 'Arjun and Lord Krishna delivering Geeta Sar' and children dressed as 'Army Jawans' singing a marching Patriotic Song ,” Utho Jawano Bhado Jawano” won a thunderous applause. Shri B.L. Parashar explained at length the activities of BVP. On this memorable day in the history of the branch, the following donations were made: r Rs 10,000 to Shri Hari Mandir.

Shri M.L.Jayant Lives On…Shri M. L. Jayant resident of BB/ 54E, Janakpuri expired on
th30 July, 2014 at the ripe age of 83 years. Members of B Block Janakpuri Branch arranged with his family for donation of Shri Jayant's eyes. As the family members readily agreed, a team of doctors were called from DDU Hospital and eyes of the disease were successfully harvested.
We are thankful to the members of the family of the deceased as well as S/Shri S.P. Kapoor and J.G. Chawla for their initiative to motivate the Jayant family for this noble cause.

The participants were grouped as under :
- 3 years to 5 years - 6 years to 8 years
- 9 years to 11 years - 12 years to 14 years
The judges were awe-struck with the scintillating dances and
had a tough time in deciding the winners. All the participants
were given certificates to recognize their efforts. The judges of
the competition were: Ms Gauri Segan Kumar, Ms Savita Sharma
& Ms Vipanchi.

Verma applauded the hard work of the participants. The
Principal Mrs. Deepshikha Dandu, who is also the President of
the Vikaspuri (Main) Branch, said that such competitions are a
wonderful platform for the young students to showcase their
talents. The audience was highly impressed by the well
organized function and it was felt by each one present there that
more such competitions should be organized by the different
