Glass bottles that are broken or once contained cosmetics should be disposed of with glass bottles. 1. Drain water well off the kitchen garbage. 2. Cut or break into pieces smaller than 45cm in length and width if an article is too long or too large. 3. Break off the tips of sharp sticks such as skewers. 4. Remove the soiled contents from disposable diapers. 5. Remove the soiled contents from pets’ litter. ・Other Articles (Parts for bicycles and automobiles, agricultural machines, electric water heaters, pianos, bathtubs, fireproof safes, industrial wastes, medical wastes, syringes, etc.) ・Business‐ related articles (Generated by retailing shops and stores, offices and restaurants) ・Articles that are subject to collection under the Home Appliance Recycling Law (4 major home electrical appliances: television sets, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners) ・Garbage disposed occasionally and in large quantities (Articles discarded when moving houses, tree clippings and leaves etc.) ・Articles that are subject to collection under the Effective Usage Promotion on Recyclable Articles Law (Desktop personal computers, monitors for personal computers, laptop personal computers) ・Explosive Articles (LP gas cylinders, fire extinguishers, etc.) 1. Divide into types and tie up in bundles with paper string for collection. 2. Rinse paper cartons. 3. Open or crush such articles as corrugated cardboard boxes, paper cartons and confection boxes and bind them together. 4. Remove non-paper parts such as plastic, vinyl, string, Styrofoam and metal objects before disposal. ・ Articles that include ingredients other than paper are to be dealt as burnable garbage. Examples: oilpaper, printing paper, carbon paper, soiled paper, aluminium-plated paper and waxed corrugated cardboard 1. Such ceramics and glassware as broken bottles or chipped bowls should be wrapped in paper before disposal. 2. Fluorescent lamp tubes that are too long for a garbage bag should be broken into pieces and wrapped in paper before disposal. 1. Razors and knives should be wrapped in paper before disposal. 2. Articles too large to be contained in designated garbage bags should be disposed of as large-sized garbage. 3. Return button-type batteries and rechargeable batteries to the electric appliances stores. 4. This includes only small-size home appliances. (Electric products categorized under the Home Appliance Recycling Law‐television sets, refrigerators, washing machines and air conditioners‐are not included.) 1. Rinse the inside. 2. Be sure to use the designated garbage bags (printed in blue). (Burned Briquettes etc.) 1. Do not incinerate garbage at home. 1. Rinse the trays. 2. Trays and containers (including cups for instant noodles) with vinyl-coating on, labels unable to peel off, smudges and dirt, or coloured or printed should be disposed with combustible garbage. As for these articles, you should inquire at the stores where you purchased the product to take them back to be discarded or ask a collection transport company to do so. ・Large‐sized garbage (too large for designated garbage bags) *Furniture, bedding (desks, chests and wardrobes, beds with mattress removed, futons, carpets, etc.) *Electric appliances (fan heaters, microwave ovens, electric massagers, etc.) *Items for ones’ hobbies (instrumental organs, skis, surfboards, etc.) *Others (bicycles, sinks, doors, windows, screens and other fittings, stepladders, etc.) As for the these articles, you should take them to the local garbage disposal plant (Kesennuma Area Clean Hill Centre) on your own or ask a collection transport company to do so. In both cases ,disposal is chargeable.
