Burleson Mayor Ken Shetter will present this popular annual address at the Chamber’s Winter Quarterly Meeting beginning at 11:30 AM at Victory Family Church. Members and community leaders will learn about Burleson’s most recent accomplishments and our city’s continued plans for future success. From job creation to an increased tax base, members will hear about the beneficial impact of growth in our city. “If you want to win, I tell people to bet on Burleson,” Shetter stated at the recent Old Town Station groundbreaking. Our city has many recent successes as proof to that comment. Current significant developments in our city include Old Town Station, a 36,000 square foot office and retail building located on the northwest corner of I-35W and Renfro being built by Dow Management. Old Town Station is the first phase of a five acre development that will anchor the Renfro entry to our city. The anticipated completion date is in late 2016. Under discussion is a 90,000 square foot, three-story building on the site of the former Burleson Police Department, a public/private undertaking. 60,000 square feet will serve as Burleson's Center of Higher Education and 30,000 square feet of retail – the first floor of the building – will be owned by a private development company, 100 Old Town, LLC. Our Economic Development team continues to work on business retention and recruitment, exemplified with the relocation of Stuart Industries (aerospace parts distribution and HQ) and Airforce Airguns (Manufacturer of precision controlled airguns), and the retention of Wagner Smith into new High Pointe facilities this fall – doubling the size of its former Burleson location. But Mayor Shetter will speak about more than the latest news, sharing his vision to maintain the Burleson lifestyle that appeals to current residents and the newcomers to our community. A closely-held goal of our city leaders is the continued deliberate pursuit to build the best city in the state for business and for families. Ken Shetter was elected mayor in June 2004 during his second term on Burleson’s City Council. Born and raised in Burleson, he holds an undergraduate and law degree from Baylor University and a Master degree from the American University in Washington D.C. In addition to serving as mayor of Burleson, Shetter is the President of One Safe Place, a non-profit corporation which develops and supports effective crime prevention and crime reduction programs and provides a framework for collaboration among Tarrant County’s public safety and crime prevention network. Title Sponsor for the Winter Quarterly Meeting is long-time Chamber supporter Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South. Texas Health Huguley has served the residents of Johnson and south Tarrant Counties since 1977 and recently broke ground on a new six-story hospital building. Affiliate sponsors are Citizens Bank of Texas and Hill College. Tickets to the State of the City may be purchased online at burlesonchamber.com. The Chamber members whose logos and names are proudly displayed on these two pages represent those members whose financial support has allowed us to enjoy a great year in 2015. They have sponsored our four Quarterly Meetings, the Awards Luncheon, the BISD New Teacher Luncheon and five Power of Heels Luncheons. Our four Special Events – the Burleson Honey Tour Bike Ride, the Chamber’s Annual Golf Tournament, and the Burleson Holiday Bazaar are underwritten by these members. The members here indicate only those sponsors who have invested $1,000 or more in sponsorship funds this year; many other members – too many to list here – have sponsored events for smaller amounts, provided in kind donations, or served with countless hours of volunteerism. To learn how you can support the Chamber and promote your business through sponsorships in 2016, contact the Chamber or review our 2016 Sponsorship Guide located on our Chamber website under the “Members” section. To our many 2015 Partners: THANKS for your support of the Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce. Our success is not possible without you.

Thank you 2015 Chamber Sponsors

The Power of Heels is proud to host Christy Beam, author of the memoir, MIRACLES FROM HEAVEN: A Little Girl, Her Journey to Heaven, and Her Amazing Story of Healing as keynote speaker to kick off the first luncheon of 2016. The Power of Heels is the women’s

division of the Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce. Miracles from Heaven is a true story of faith

and blessings. Christy and her family witnessed a live miracle through their daughter Annabel, who was plagued by a chronic illness at a young age, survived a life altering accident and a journey to Heaven, resulting in the remarkable disappearance of the symptoms caused by her chronic disease. Beam shares this remarkable story of how she and her family overcame the trials that surrounded them.

“This journey has taught me to remember that no matter how hard things get, I am now and have been blessed beyond measure and for that I am so grateful!” says Beam. “I have always been passionate about reading and developing readers which has led me to write my first book and share God’s message. The message I want to share is to stay faithful to God in all times whether it be trials and tribulations or seasons of blessings because God is FAITHFUL!”

“Excitement is building among the Power of Heels team as we prepare for an extraordinary year!” said Kelly Qualls, 2016 Power of Heels Chair. “One of the goals of the Power of Heels is to inspire and motivate women leaders in and around our community to succeed not only in their business world but in their personal lives as well. I believe we will have a dynamic year in 2016!”

The Power of Heels luncheon will take place on Friday, January 29, 2016. Doors open at 11:30 AM and the meeting will conclude at 1:00 PM. Check the chamber website for location details. Tickets are $15 for Chamber members, $20 for Non-Members and $20 at the door.
