Food Bank and St. Vincent de Paul We are always welcome to contribute food to the Food Bank boxes in the vestibule of the church, and clothing and small appliances to the St. Vincent de Paul box in the vestibule of the church hall. The third Sunday of the month is our special time for the Food Bank. We now have receptacles on both sides of the entrance.

The Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated in our parish May 28, 2016 at 5:15 p.m. Baptized Roman Catholic members of the parish, grade 7 or older who wish to be confirmed, will be enrolled as candidates for Confirmation during weekend Masses Jan. 9 and 10. Forms for the registration of candidates may be received from Our Lady of Lourdes School for students and from the Parish Office for all others.

Holy Communion to those in the Parish who are not well enough to come to Sunday Mass, please contact Carol Young: 613-389-6306.

Sacrament of Penance Saturday, 4:30-5:00 p.m., daily before Mass, and by appointment

Sacrament of Baptism: by appointment

Sacrament of Marriage: Arrange 6 months in advance. Pre-marriage course required

Sacrament of the sick: as needed. Call the parish office.

Sacraments

2015 Church Offering Envelopes are prepared. Please collect from the church vestibule. All members of the parish with an income are needed to help support the church. Those who should have their names added to our list of envelope holders are asked to contact the office. If your contact information has changed, please inform the office.

Flowers for Christmas Donations, in memoriam, or for the intentions of your beloved relatives and friends, are being received now. These funds will be used to purchase flowers for the glory of God and to beautify the Christmas liturgies. Your donations, as always, will receive income tax receipts and will be gratefully acknowledged. Envelopes are in the vestibule of the church. The intentions will be remembered at all Christmas liturgies and posted in the church entrance.

Thank you Parish Catholic Women’s League for the generous donation of $2578. from funeral luncheons this year. Your Ministry to those in grief is appreciated.

The Board and Staff at St. Mary’s Cemetery join with you in remembering your loved ones entrusted to our care at a Mass being offered for the Deceased and their Families on Thursday, December 31 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Parish, Palace Road.

Holy Innocents Candlelight Vigil Monday, December 28, 2015 from 7:00 pm. until 8:00 pm in front of Kingston General Hospital. At this time, during the Christmas Season, we remember the Holy Innocents, the babies who were killed by Herod seeking the Christ Child. We will gather to pray for our “innocents”, the more than

35,000 babies killed at KGH by the sin of abortion. Please join us at 6:45 p.m. on the hill across from KGH (Stuart St.) for prayers and hymns. Please bring your own candle in a glass jar (flashlight for children)-we will have some on hand too.

A sincere thank you for your support for our Coins for Life and Christmas Cake fundraisers. Your financial support and most importantly your prayers fuels our pro-life efforts. For the more information call Campaign Life Coalition at 613-389-4472 or 613-382-1084.

Jubilee of Mercy Advent MissionAdvent mission on the theme “Merciful Like the Father” at Sacred Heart of Mary Parish on Wolfe Island. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 20-22 at 7:45 p.m. (7:00 pm ferry from Kingston, arriving at the winter dock). The mission will be preached by Father Raymond J. de Souza, pastor of Sacred Heart of Mary, who has been appointed by the Holy See a Missionary of Mercy for the jubilee year. Confessions will also be heard each evening. All are welcome!

Liturgical Assignments | December 19/20

Thank you Members of the 2016 Holy Cross School Mission Team sincerely thank the parishioners of Our Lady of Lourdes for their support for our Bake Sale after all the Masses last weekend. We especially are grateful to the C.W.L. and to the Knights of Columbus for their help and donations which helped us raise over $600 for this year’s Mission Trip to Kingston, Jamaica.
