Classroom Computers• All classrooms except Special Ed: 1 Desktop Computer
– Math teachers (except Special Ed) will now present from Desktop Computers; old laptops to be used elsewhere.
• Special Ed classrooms: 1 Laptop Computer (new)– Must be kept SECURED; cable lock provided.
• Allow computer to install UPDATES! *Dismiss Adobe updater.
• Restart at the end of each day/at least weekly.• Keep area around computer clear of clutter.• Computer must be located in proximity to:
– Internet drop (ORANGE or BLUE; not the phone drop!)– Screen, Projector and ELMO
Multimedia Presentation Equipment• Projector - Set up on cart or table
– TURN ON to check placement before taping down cords!– Check bulb before Monday!– Turn off lamp when not in use; do not power off/move while fan running.– Keep area around projector free of clutter.
• ELMO portable document camera - Set up on cart or table– Recommend USB cable computer connection for use with ImageMate
software; must be set up near computer (not projector).• External computer speakers (to boost online/video sound)• LCD/ELMO/Presentation Remotes if available; KEEP SECURED!• If you changed rooms, your set-up may not be the same
– Computers & presentation equipment assigned to classroom, not staff
Connecting Presentation Equipment• Equipment carts collected last year will be
available Monday or Tuesday.• Check your carts, closets & cupboards for power
strips/extension cords before requesting these.• Use only Cable Path tape for tape-down of
cables/cords; return tape to Library Office promptly. Cords must be secured vertically to tables/carts; leave sufficient slack.
• Contact a Tech Support Team member for help.
Printers• Use Copy Room CANON for all large print jobs.
– If you are NEW or you CHANGED CLASSROOMS, you must set up your Copy Room CANON Mailbox on new computer.
– Front Office/Guidance staff set up Mailbox in Front Office CANON.
• Use Faculty Room 600 network printer for small print jobs.– Ink delivered Friday; please check printer on your computer ASAP to
delete any old jobs!
• If a hallway network printer is installed on your computer, consult hallway teachers to contribute to the purchase of toner.
• Follow GJSMS Printing Policies as outlined on General’s Help Desk.
Edline & EGP Web
• Distribution of Teacher/Parent/Student Activation Codes• See the Edline Teacher Resources page on the General’s
Help Desk for policies and instructions for setting up Gradebooks, naming Class Pages, using Homework Calendars, uploading Grades.
• If NEW or NEED A REFRESHER, hold off on setting up Gradebooks/Class Pages for now. – We will offer a Hands-on Help Session this week to walk you
through procedures.
Outlook Email Distribution Lists• You will receive an email from Kelly with the
GJSMS school-wide distribution list and Emergency 2013-14 list for your Outlook Contacts.– Use the GJSMS school-wide distribution list ONLY for
email pertaining to ALL STAFF.– Use Homeroom Teachers, Grade Level, Department,
& Committee distribution lists for specific groups.– Use Emergency distribution list to report class status in
event of an Emergency Lockdown; directions are under NOTES button in the Emergency distribution list.
Circulating Equipment
Reserve on Equipment Reservations sheet in Tech Resources folder on Shared Drive.
• AV-Technology Equipment– Flip Cams, Digital cameras, Camcorders, Webcams, SD Card reader– Computer Microphones, Student Microphone Headsets, Audio Headsets– VCR/DVD players w/cables for connection to projector– CD Boomboxes, Audio Cassette Players, Listening Stations
• Laptop Cart (1 laptop & projector)– For DARE instruction and Cafeteria presentations.

• 24 new ActivSlates to be distributed among content/special areas.
• Wireless interactive tablet used to increase student engagement and promote active learning.
• Communicates with computer via registered USB ActivHub, ActivPen, and ActivInspire software.
• Use ActivInspire software to create Flipcharts or annotate over computer display on screen; no whiteboard needed!
