Brandon & Leah - Institutional Info Perhaps I am looking in the wrong places but on the internet it seems very difficult to find information regarding Brandon & Leah's record label and management. Their Facebook states that they are signed with Warner Bros Records but even after several google searches it is has been hard to find any details about how they were signed and other similar information. I wondered if this was perhaps because they are not 'worldwide' stars and appeal to a niche audience. However, on this presentation I will discuss what little information I have been able to find. This is taken from their Facebook fan page and I have circled where it states that they belong to Warner Bros. Records.

Brandon & Leah - Institutional InfoPerhaps I am looking in the wrong places but on the internet it seems very difficult to find information regarding Brandon & Leah's record label and management.

Records.

It is an American record label founded in 1958 by Jack Warner. It was the foundation label of the 'Warner Music Group' and is now completely owned by that company.

Between the 1960s and 2000s Warner Bros. Records has grown from a "struggling minor player in the industry to one of the top recording labels in the world".

The group's extensive publishing assets, which include over one million song copyrights by more than 65,000 songwriters, currently make it the world's largest music publisher.

I've noticed that Warner Bros. Records have a vast range of artists, they do not just have one typical genre. They differ from Green Day, Lily Allen to The Bee Gees, David Bowie to ZZ Top.

About Warner Bros. Records

Promotional Methods used by Warner Bro. Records

Obviously, in this day and age with modern technologies that are continuously improving and changing the way we receive media (whether it be film, tv, music and more) large corporations such as Warner Bros. must use this to their advantage and to maintain their position at the top of the industry.

For example, websites aren't like how they were 5 years ago. Now they are much more interactive and interesting, in order to, in a sense, get the audience 'hooked' on their products (the music). Warner Bros. Records has a highly interactive website with lots of different things for the public to view and listen to.

This is the main homepage of their website. Clearly showing a new artist, providing viewers with access to his music and extra information about him.

There is clear and easily accessible links to their store (obviously they want to entice customers to spend money) and to news and other info they may be interested in.

They have made their online store look as 'cool' as possible in order to persuade people to spend their money.

Warner Bros. Records - YoutubeThey also have a very detailed Youtube page where fans can access videos of all their different signed artists, as well as additional footage.

This is the main page of the Youtube page. Currently showing of (promoting) a new artist.

Quick links to their other social media sites.

They have different playlists that will appeal to different audiences.

Our ArtistBecause the artist my group and I are creating is a very folky/indie artist with a very simplistic and naturalistic image and therefore appeals to a niche market, it would be unlikely for her to be signed to Warner Bros. Records.

In my opinion, the sort of record label we could look to could be a very small and independent one. For example, singer/songwriter Jack Johnson (who is also known for his beachy sounds and relationship with nature) has his own record label named Bushfire Records.

The label is based in Hawaii and only has 10 or so artists signed with them and I think this would be the perfect label for our star, especially for the beginning of her career whilst she is still quite unknown.

Red Light ManagementBrandon and Leah are managed by Red Light Management which is considered one of the most "innovative artist management companies the in industry".

It was founded in 1991. It is known for taking an entrepreneurial approach with its diverse roster of clients. Its managers are also at the forefront of defining the expanding role of personal management in the music business. The company’s capabilities include a broad expertise in artist development, touring, commerce, festivals, licensing, branded entertainment and more.

Other artists managed by this company include Alicia Keys, Bat For Lashes, Borgore, the Kaiser Chiefs and more.

I think this particular management is suitable for Brandon & Leah as they have a very creative approach of doing things and that is exactly what Brandon & Leah are all about.

I also think this would be the perfect management for our artist as they take on both well known and less known stars. Red Light Management's creativity is what especially makes them suitable for our star.
