• GPO is now doing original cataloging in RDA• But records previously created in AACR2 remain

that way.• Libraries currently get a mix of RDA and AACR2

records, and this will continue for some time.

For GPO Ongoing Subscription and Documents Without Shelves, we edit the GPO RDA records when we see that

• old abbreviations have not been spelled out• CMC terms have misspellings• fixed field information about formats doesn’t

agree with CMC information

Conversion of all GPO records

• We can convert all of a libraries’ GPO records to RDA, if desired. No cost.– Change access points to RDA– Create Content, Media, and Carrier fields (CMC)– Many other changes to conform to RDA

• Some libraries continue to rely on the General Material Designator (GMD). If desired, we can create it where missing. One time cost of $75.
