• BladeModeler consists of three components:– BladeGen

• Initial Sizing Tools– Vista AFD – Vista CCD – Vista CPD – Vista RTD

• Blade design for a single stage

– DesignModeler• CAD tool to add additional features to blade• Fillets, blade trimming, shroud covers• Generation of fluid volume• Creation of scrolls, housings, volutes, etc.

– BladeEditor• Eventual replacement for BladeGen

– Many functions available in BladeGen now available in BladeEditor

• DesignModeler add-on that provides seamless geometry connection between BladeGen and DesignModeler

• Blade designs of multiple stages can be created at once

• Create bladed components– Create meridional flow path for multiple stages– Create blades for multiple stages

• Eventually all BladeGen functionality will be migrated to BladeEditor• Some parameters can be exposed in Workbench for design

exploration/optimization

• Provides geometry connection between BladeGen and DesignModeler• Allows for the import of multiple BladeGen models into one DesignModeler

session• Allows for easy editing of blade geometry• Components from another CAD source can be imported and combined with

blade geometry (i.e. A volute)
