Having recently completed IMCA Experienced Diver Assessments for clients in Indonesia and Vietnam, the trend diving companies from the region to gain IMCA Membership continues which is one area we have been busy providing various supporting services. KBA Europe has finally achieved its accreditation from Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) to deliver a series of construction related training courses. Plus, we are pleased to announce a new training venue in Skipton, UK for Client Worksite Representative course. Earlier in January, KBAT exhibited for the first time in Intersec Dubai and followed by the official openin the first South-East Asia's Commercial Diver Training Centre for its Inland/Inshore Commercial Diver Trai Programme on 06 February 2015. Over 40 industry members and associations i.e. MOM, WSHC, CDAS, diving companies joined KBAT and witnessed this special milestone attained. More details below. Greetings, When you get a 'groove' going, time flies and before we noticed, it is April. KBA have been very busy with auditing and compliance projects within Asia Pacific region and as far afield as Brazil and China. Having recently completed IMCA Experienced Diver Assessments for clients in Indonesia and Vietnam, the trend for diving companies from the region to gain IMCA Membership continues which is one area we have been busy providing various supporting services. KBA Europe has finally achieved its accreditation from Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) to deliver a series of construction related training courses. Plus, we are pleased to announce a new training venue in Skipton, UK for Client Worksite Representative course. Earlier in January, KBAT exhibited for the first time in Intersec Dubai and followed by the official opening of the first South-East Asia's Commercial Diver Training Centre for its Inland/Inshore Commercial Diver Training Programme on 06 February 2015. In our recent consolidation of client records, we were proud to share that we have trained more than 10,000 delegates and have provided training in over 17 countries in just 10 years of training since commencement. The delegates attended the various disciplines of the training from health & safety, commercial diving, IRATA, work at height and many more. This is certainly a great achievement and we will continue to uphold our quality of training and in bringing the most relevant certifications to meet the workforce demand. Plus, in a four year

timeframe, we have trained a total of 242 candidates for Client Worksite Representative course worldwide from - Singapore, Indonesia, HongKong, Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam, Japan, Canada, England, Australia, Philippines, New Zealand, India, US, South Africa, Qatar, Nigeria, Egypt and Russia. In celebration of Singapore's 50th birthday, we have introduced a series of training discounts 'SG50' where new sign-ups starting from 15 March 2015 will receive a 50% or S$50 discount of their training course held in 2015. Top News 1. KBA: Successful Completion of Surface Supplied Diving Assessment for Petrovietnam Manpower Training College In Accordance with IMCA Experienced Diver Assessment Requirements. In February, KBA completed the assessment of 24 experienced divers who work for PVMTC based in Vietnam. The assessment period was over 20 days and consisted of the full range and requirements of the IMCA assessment criteria with dives from the wet bell system to 40m along with emergency drills and DDC dive to 40m. 2. KBA: A visit from IMCA team - Chris Charman (Chief Executive) and Jane Bugler (Technical Director) On 13th January, it is our great honour to host IMCA Chief Executive, Mr. Chris Charman along with Technical Director Ms. Jane Bugler who visited our main office, the commercial diving site and the new commercial diver training venue at SAF Yacht Club Changi. During the visit, they were introduced to the full extent of KBA Group services with regards to being the leading IMCA training provider in Asia. Our IMCA Diver Medic Technician and Trainee Bell Diving Supervisor course delegates were surprised and glad to have a chance to meet both of them too!

3. KBAT: Opening Ceremony - Commercial Diver Training Centre ~ 06 February 2015 KBAT saw the official opening of our commercial diver training facilities on the 6th February 2015 at the SAF Yacht Club @ Changi. We were honoured to have Guest of Honour, Mr. Wong Weng Sun, President & CEO of SembCorp Marine Ltd; and VIPs Mr. Chan Yew Kong, Director of Occupational Safety and Health Inspectorate, Ministry of Manpower (MOM); Mr. Raymond Wong- Senior Assistant Director, WSH Competency Standards & Accreditation/Manpower Capability Building; Mr. Abdul Malik - Chairman of Commercial Divers Association Singapore (CDAS) and Mr. Koh Hock Lim- General Manager of SAF Yacht Club to grace the ceremony. We were delighted that 45 industry members and associations joined us in the celebration of the first Commercial Diver Training Centre in Singapore and the launch of the national accredited inland/inshore diving programme to help raise the safety standards for commercial diving works in Singapore. The site visit had given the guests a greater insight of the professionalism and quality training that KBAT upholds, and together we can garner more 'buy-in' from the industry, clients and individual commercial divers to follow the standards and work safely. It was a fruitful couple of hours with the site tour and lunch provided and we would like to thank everyone who joined us for the special event. Click Here for more photos.

4. KBAT: Launch of SG50 MOM accredited Diving and Safety Courses

5. KBAT: IMCA Asia-Pacific Meeting in Jakarta ~ Indonesia, 15 January 2015 On 14th January, IMCA hosted a Briefing Seminar in Jakarta for those who want to find out more about the association and the benefits of being a member. The following day, over 140 delegates attended the IMCA Asia-Pacific Section Meeting for members and non-members held in Jakarta, Indonesia. Chris Charman, IMCA Chief Executive and Jane Bugler, Technical Director presented on what IMCA does for the offshore industry. There were discussions and case studies from current members where Darren Brunton, KBA's Managing Director also gave a presentation of a case study of the recent IMCA experienced surface supplied diver assessments conducted in Indonesia. Overall, the session was packed with interesting presentations on topics such as: opportunities and challenges of working in the region, marine insurance and mixed gas diving systems, to name a few!

6. KBA Europe: New Accreditation from Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) is the Sector Skills Council and Industry Training Board for the construction industry. It works with construction companies to improve skills, increase competitiveness and respond to the many challenges employers face. a. KBA Europe > Offshore Europe Aberdeen 2015

KBA Europe will be exhibiting for the first time at Offshore Europe Conference and Exhibition. Mark down the dates in your calendar now.

2. Participated Events a. KBA Training > Intersec Dubai KBA Training exhibited for the first time at Intersec Dubai on the 18 - 20 January 2015. It was a very busy three day exhibition and has been the largest show ever since with 1,234 exhibitors and welcomed more than 27,300 visitors from 120 countries. Delegates showed vast interest in undertaking NEBOSH or IOSH certifications either to upgrade themselves or to provide fundamental safety knowledge for their team. It was indeed an eye-opening opportunity for KBAT being the first time at the show and we hoped to better serve the middle east markets and work together with the locals to train the workforce and increase the safety awareness and knowledge. b. Sponsorship for bizSAFE Convention 2015: A safer and healthier workplace for everyone ~ Singapore, 05 February 2015 KBA Team was one of the sponsors for bizSAFE Convention held on the 05 February 2015 at Singapore Expo which was well-attended by more than 800 participants. The Convention hoped to encourage more companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to embark on workplace safety and health (WSH) through bizSAFE. Guest of Honour, Minister for Manpower Mr Tan Chuan-Jin announced the national workplace fatal injury rate for 2014 has been reduced to 1.8 per 100,000 employees from 2.3 in 2013. It was a commendable achievement by our stakeholders and the industry but we need to sustain our efforts. Minister highlighted that while we have reached the WSH 2018 target, 60 lives were lost at work last year and one life lost is one too many. Hence, Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and WSH Council will continue to identify the underlying issues and address the root causes. [Source from WSHC website - Click here for detailed reading]

c. China Maritime - The 5th International Offshore Engineering Technology & Equipment Exhibition ~ Beijing, China on 27 March 2015 KBA Management visited clients in Tianjin followed by a visit to the 5th International Offshore Engineering Technology & Equipment Exhibition held on the 26 - 28 March 2015 in Beijing, China. Darren and Colin caught up with some old friends and clients and met with some new friends too at the exhibition. They also paid a visit to the booth of IMCA and LEXMAR who were both the exhibitors. iii) IOSH Managing Safely ~ 29 - 30 Jan in Singapore

KBAT has delivered an in-company IOSH Managing Safely training for Fugro with delegates from the world. After the training, the group continued with a two-day 'Train-the-Trainer' course. We are glad to announce that KBAT are part of the training team to deliver Fugro IOSH Managing Safely course to their personnel worldwide on behalf of the Fugro Academy UK. The next training is scheduled in Singapore on 13 - 15 April or Aberdeen, UK on 27 - 29 April 2015. More dates will be planned for new locations such as Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia and Malaysia as well as new mode of study E-learning

vi) CIEH Level 1 Award in Food Safety ~ 5 Mar in Batam, Indonesia

Earlier this month, Melissa our instructor has been onboard a client's vessel in Batam, Indonesia to conduct an in-company CIEH Level 1 Award in Food Safety. It was great to see offshore organisations taking food hygiene seriously and training their staff to raise food safety awareness as well as to provide a suitable level of health and well-being for their personnel on vessel working offshore. CIEH Food Safety course are available from Level 1 to Level 4 as well as food safety management system based on codex principles of HACCP. Click Here for the flyer.

vii) CIEH Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work ~ 5 - 7 Jan in Aberdeen, UK

KBA Europe has delivered the first run of CIEH Level 3 Award in First Aid at work in Aberdeen, UK. Trevor John, the instructor commented that it was a great three day course with a small group size. This training is especially important for personnel who is going to take on the role as first aider in the workplace. 4. Diving Department NEWs

a) New Training Course

i) Graduates of MOM Accredited CSCUBA Diver, Level 1 ~ 19 Jan - 13 Feb, Singapore NEW training We are pleased to announce the first batch of trainees who was on a four week programme - Commercial Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus (CSCUBA) Diver course has graduated. The trainee divers completed their theory training, 30m DDC dives, equipment familiarisation dives in dive tank, emergency drills and handling of simple tasks underwater before being relocated to the new dive training centre at SAF Yacht Club for their practical dive assessment and 50m dive. With a total of 12 trainees from two local diving companies, local shipyards and individuals

from Singapore, UK, Malaysia and India - the first course has set a precedence of being truly international. The next training has been scheduled:

CSCUBA Diver, Level 1 : 20 April - 15 May 2015 Inland/Inshore Diving Supervisor, Level 4: 13 - 17 April 2015

ii) Surface Supplied Diving Equipment Diver, Level 2 ~ 23 Feb - 01 April, Singapore NEW training Five out of the first batch of graduates for CSCUBA Level 1 are in the midst of their five-week programme 'Surface Supplied Diving Equipment', Level 2 training. The training will include surface supplied diving equipment, systems, procedures and practices and SSDE diving. The next training schedule will be released soon. Contact us for more information.

b) Courses Conducted Over the Past 3 months

i) IMCA Trainee Air Diving Supervisor ~ 17 - 21 Feb in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia KBA Training held the IMCA Assistant Life Support Technician training in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Attending students came from Malaysia and as far afield as Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, India and Australia. The course, only run 3 times a year is very popular and the training includes hands-on experience with our two decompression chambers and associated equipment.

This next training is scheduled in Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia on 08 - 12 June or 07 - 11 October; Singapore on 30 Mar - 03 Apr or 06 - 10 July 2015. Whereas the training dates for IMCA Assistant Life Support Technician course are scheduled in Kuala Lumpur,

Malaysia on 28 September - 06 October; Singapore on 20 - 30 April 2015.

ii) Kirby Morgan DSI Basic Maintenance & Repair Technician ~ 15 - 17 Feb 2015 in Shanghai, China In February, just a few days before Lunar New Year celebration, the team from Shanghai Salvage was still working hard for their Kirby Morgan Helmet training conducted by KBAT's instructor - Alan Hardy. iii) Client Worksite Representative Course ~ 23 - 27 March 2015 in Skipton, UK (New Training Venue) KBA Europe conducted its first run of Client Worksite Representative course in Skipton, UK. Other than Brendan, the main instructor, we have Chris Ridgeway, an associate trainer to deliver the leadership and management module where he brings to his training a wealth of experience from the commercial to the academic. Chris has been a global business leader, an internal HR director and an academic visiting professor with considerable

experience of leadership training and management system development within the oil and gas sector. The next public run training in Singapore, UK and US will be released soon. Click Here for the flyer.

iv) Diving Safety Awareness Workshop ~ 3 - 4 February 2015 for CUEL Thailand KBA Training conducted the Diving Safety Awareness Workshop for CUEL Thailand in Bangkok. A two-day training consisted of awareness of isolations and intervention, subsea lifting and underwater cutting methods.

v) Diving System Assurance Training ~ 10 -13 February 2015 in Singapore

Delegates from Petrovietnam Manpower Training College (PVMTC) Vietnam have attended the popular Diving System Assurance Auditor course on the 10 - 13 Feb 2015 in Singapore. They were one of the pioneer batch to visit the new Commercial Diver Training Centre in SAF Yacht Club to conduct an onsite audit of the dive system.

KBAT conducted a ROV Awareness Workshop for the personnel of PETRONAS Carigali / Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The two day training was an interesting dialogue and lessons learnt and shared.
