My year as District Governor is coming to an end. It’s ending with sadness on my part and yet much joy in all our District has accomplished this year. We’ve had a lot of energy and enthusiasm within the District this year. Many of your District Leadership have been able to attend Rotary Zone and International events to learn about Rotary on a broader scale and learn to lead the District into the future. Many clubs have made changes in format, membership and events to be able to attract new members and grow into the future. We had 40 Mon- tana Rotarians and spouses at the Rotary Interna- tional Convention in Atlanta, GA in early June which may have set a record!! How exciting! Our 2016-2017 year closed out with a successful Friendship Ex- change with Tasmania. I hosted one couple and attended events with them here in MT. How fun - it just reinforced my love of my “Rotary Fami- ly” around the world! I attended the RI Convention breakout session on coordinating such exchanges and hope we’re able to put together another Friendship Exchange sometime soon to a new country. Don’t hesitate to give me your thoughts on where that should be. It has truly been a privilege to serve as your District Governor this past year. I may not have accomplished all that I had hoped to, but I will continue to work on a few “pet” projects like updating the District Manual of Procedures and will continue to support our District 5390 in any way I am able to. I accepted the challenge to serve as the Rotary Zone 21b&27 Database and Directory Chairperson for the 2017 Rotary Institute in Hou- ston, TX in September. I also hope to help with the 2018 Rotary Zone In- stitute which will be held in Boise, ID September 4-10, 2018. That’s so physically close to MT that I hope to see many Montana Rotarians there. My year as District Governor is coming to an
end. It’s ending with sadness on my part and yet
much joy in all our District has accomplished this
year.
We’ve had a lot of energy and enthusiasm
within the District this year. Many of your District
Leadership have been able to attend Rotary Zone
and International events to learn about Rotary on a
broader scale and learn to lead the District into the
future. Many clubs have made changes in format,
membership and events to be able to attract new
members and grow into the future. We had 40 Mon-
tana Rotarians and spouses at the Rotary Interna-
tional Convention in Atlanta, GA in early June
which may have set a record!! How exciting!
Our 2016-2017 year closed out with a successful Friendship Ex-
change with Tasmania. I hosted one couple and attended events with
them here in MT. How fun - it just reinforced my love of my “Rotary Fami-
ly” around the world! I attended the RI Convention breakout session on
coordinating such exchanges and hope we’re able to put together another
Friendship Exchange sometime soon to a new country. Don’t hesitate to
give me your thoughts on where that should be.
