Greetings from springtime in the Netherlands! I’m sure that you are just as thankful as we are for the renewal and unique beauty of this wonderful time of year. Harry and I thoroughly enjoyed our time together at TWR Europe’s Annual Partner Confer- ence in Bratislava, Slovakia April 5-9. He attends yearly, but I also went this year in order to serve with the Marketing and Communications Department in the role of conference photogra- pher. It was truly a uniting of the nations as people from 31 countries (see photo above) gathered to learn, network, worship, and pray together. A highlight for me was meeting Berti Dosti from our Albania Partner … up until now he was just God’s Secret Listener from one of TWR’s Epic Story films (this is also the title of a captivating book documenting his life). His story in brief: Enver Hoxha, Albania’s dictator during the Communist era, proclaimed his country the world’s first atheist state. Meanwhile, Captain Dosti, one of the elite team monitoring Albania’s borders, was leaving his country unguarded for 15 minutes a week as he tuned in to TWR’s broadcasts from Monte Carlo. At great personal risk, Berti responded to God’s call. He not only became a Christian but also shared his faith. With churches destroyed and Christian leaders executed or jailed, post-Communist Albania with its Muslim heritage was tough ground for Christian missions. But Captain—now Pastor—Dosti helped to lead the new wave of church planting that has swept the country. Combining integrity with social compassion, he and his colleagues have reached thou- sands; there is now a church in every major community! And it all began with 15 minutes per week of Gospel broadcast- ing ... This story speaks for itself, and represents tens of thousands of others from around the globe, concerning the impact of TWR’s awesome and far-reaching ministry! Let’s rewind a bit—Harry attended the biannual Regional Management Team meeting in Vienna February 2-5. Prob-lems were solved, challenges were revealed, God worked in their midst, and Harry enjoyed his favorite Austrian schnitzel!

Two weeks later he was off to TWR’s corporate headquarters in Cary, NC for Global Media Services Team meetings (gathering of colleagues doing his type of work from each of TWR’s regions). From there he zipped over to Nashville, TN for his first experience at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention. It worked out so well for him to be there to meet with some of TWR’s cooperating broadcasters that he will likely go again in 2012. And he must have been wearing his lucky shoes because his name was drawn to win an I-Pad at one of the booths! Not to mention all the give-away chocolate that received priority in his suitcase. ☺

Another surprise awaited him when he returned home—upon entering what used to be the baby room, he discovered a newly renovated “man cave”! I chose paint colors that would complement artwork he had bought years ago in China and Thailand, spent €15 on a chest of drawers at a thrift shop, and voila! I hope to refinish the two white

cabinets and reupholster the old armchair someday, and the crib should be sold by the time you receive this. Some have asked if this was emotionally difficult. To be honest, I had reached the point where it really needed to NOT be a baby room any more and the “re-do” couldn’t happen soon enough. Plus, it was fun to be creating a cozy space to call his own as an early birthday gift for my wonderful hubby!

Harry will be the one left behind May 22-27 while I attend support-raising training again, this time at the Wycliffe facility in Burbach, Germany (last May it was in the Slovakian countryside). The first several days (Part 1) will be “Training for the Train-ers,” followed by Part 2—a seminar for anyone needing assistance in the area of rais-ing personal support. The Europe HR Director asked if I would be willing to put Part 1 into practice by leading/teaching a session during Part 2. Affirmative.

When God closes one door he often opens another! One of Harry’s part-time work-ers left for a teaching position in December. A church friend of another colleague ap-plied for the job, signed the contract, and seems to be just what we were praying for!

Thank you so much for your love, support, and encouragement,

Harry & Eileen

1. For my brother John and family.

Every two months he goes for a

cat scan to determine if he can

remain in the trial for the medica-

tion … it is understandably a

stressful process.

2. For my sister Sallie who is at-

tempting to shrink a non-

cancerous tumor in her neck

through alternative therapies

before going the surgery route.

3. That God would continue to draw

my friends “L” from China and

“M” from Iran to Himself.

4. That the work done on my teeth/

bite May 12th will help to allevi-

ate daily pain and discomfort.
