JENNIFER DAVICK ¼ cup mayonnaise 1 Tbsp milk 2 Tbsp white wine vinegar, divided ½ tsp onion powder 2 cups coleslaw mix 3 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley Salt and pepper ½ cup barbecue sauce 1½ lb ground pork 4 hamburger buns, toasted Barbecued Pork Burgers with Coleslaw î GRILL LIKE A PRO • Avoid overworking the meat, or you’ll end up with tough burgers. • Use your thumb to make an indentation in the middle of each patty so that it will cook evenly. • Place burgers 4 to 6 inches from the heat source. • Don’t press down on the patties as they cook, or they’ll lose their tasty juices! Better Burgers 1. Heat grill to medium. 2. Combine mayonnaise, milk, 1 Tbsp vinegar and onion powder in a bowl. Add coleslaw and parsley and toss well. Season with salt and pepper. 3. Whisk remaining 1 Tbsp vinegar with barbecue sauce in a medium bowl. Add 2 Tbsp sauce mixture to ground pork in another bowl. Mix well. Gently shape into 4 patties. 4. Brush buns with some of the remaining sauce mixture. Grill burgers about 8 minutes, flipping once and brushing generously with more sauce mixture. 5. Put burgers on buns; top with coleslaw. Serves 4
