Thomas Tallis school is moving to a new building soon. We started a project called Thomas Tallis - Past, Present, Future. In this melancholic mood our Deaf did some thinking about the Deaf History. Here are some of Alex's and Unathi's thoughts about the Deaf History -PAST.

2 important inventions Telephone - Alexander Graham bell Battery - Thomas Eddison

1850 - 1890sA company in America started making hearing
aids
1898
people could buy hearing aid but they cost $400 but.......
•The battery needed a table !
1920s
Better amplification but HUGE battery
These three people must carry boxes
linked to hearing aid. They carried battery
in 1949
1952 - First small hearing aids and on/off switch - this
is not one of them!!!!!!!
1950s Attached to glasses ,cost
$229.50 - what do you do if you don’t need glasses?
1990 The first digital
hearing aids were
Smaller
Intelligent Cuts out unwanted
noise Recognises speech
So what now ?
