The perfect blend for young growing animals at weaning. Can be offered adlib with straw and milk powder.
• An excellent growing blend for young calves. 18% protein maximises
frame growth from an early age.
• Good levels of starch and sugars ensure young animals get the most out
of the protein available.
• High quality ingredients maximise DMI.

Countrywide Cattle GP Minerals
• Formulated to meet the requirements of a wide range of
farm livestock including extensive beef cattle, in calf
heifers, stores and youngstock at grass
• Also suitable for balancing winter rations
Countrywide Intensive Beef Minerals
• Designed for inclusion in rations for intensive and
semiintensive beef cattle where cereal intakes are high
Benefits of including a mineral in your blend
• Enhances your blend and saves time
• Minerals can be included at the right
levels to meet feeding requirements
Product profile
• High specication, carefully formulated to meet the
requirements of modern, high genetic merit stock
• Feeding minerals helps to correct deciencies in grazing,
forages and straights to maximise health, fertility and
performance
• Palatable

Intensive Beef Production Systems
Feeding System
Maximised daily intakes of high-density concentrates fed
alongside clean straw and fresh water
Liveweight at start 90 – 110 kg
Liveweight at finish 480 – 540 kg
Target daily liveweight gain 1.3 – 1.4 kg/d
Age at finish 11 – 13 months
Killing out % Dairy type 51 – 57
Continental type 54 – 60
Total concentrate use 2.0 – 2.2 tonnes
Typical conversion rate 4:5 – 5:1
Common Problems in Intensive Systems
Cereal bloat – fresh straw is vital – provide in racks on a dailybasis and do not rely on bedding alone
Acidosis – a degree of acidosis is acceptable in a barley bull
system, but to prevent clinical signs, change feeds gradually –
including individual blend deliveries – provide some fibre and
consider using a rumen buffer
Preventatives
• Introduce high cereal content rations gradually over time to
allow rumen bugs to adjust
• Ensure plenty of clean straw and fresh water are available
• Allow plenty of feeding space to prevent gorging
• Consider including a yeast in your blend to stabilise rumen
conditions
• Never allow feeders to run empty
