Wolf Canyon Weekly Kindergarten Newsletter - May 31, 2016 - Important Information! We are in the home stretch. This is our last week of Kindergarten and we are definitely ready for our summer break. Thank you to all our parents who helped us with the Chalk Walk. The students had a blast. One of the students said, “This is the best day ever.” Our last event is our Good Bye to Kindergarten day on June 3 rd . We need many volunteers for this day’s event. Please be on the lookout for an important paper regarding signing up for this amazing celebration. We would love to have all the volunteers we possibly could for this terrific event. It is an opportunity to have a fun filled day with your child and enjoy a picnic lunch with them on their last day of Kindergarten. Parents will be bringing in their own lunches for themselves and their kids for the picnic lunch. Raz-Kids: We see that many students are accessing the Raz-Kids reading program and we are so excited to see the progress that the students are making. Keep it up! For those of you who are still in Level aa, let’s get reading! The students should at least be in Level D at this time. By the end of the year in May they have to be in level F or higher. Question Cue Cards: We are sending home question cue cards to help with reading comprehension. Please use these cards to help your child’s understanding of the story that he/she is reading. DREAMBOX : Dreambox is an online math program that our students will be using at school and as part of their homework. Your child’s teacher will send home a letter explaining how to log in. Curriculum Corner Mathematics We will continue to focus on subtraction and addition skills and how to show and explain our problem solving strategies.
