Companies have 3D print- ers ranging from $400 to in the tens of thousands. Ms. White believes that “Home use 3D printers are in its beginning stage, but I predict they will be ubiquitous, like computers, in about five years.” Already busi- nesses are opening stores and having events to popularize the use of 3D printers. Students at BETA, CTI and SPC can use the 3D printer to make food, auto parts, and models of concepts limited only by their creative imagination We raised $560 towards obtaining a MakerBot Academy 3D Printing Bundle!! We need $1,892 more to reach our goal. This 3D printer is ready for the classroom and fully equipped. Students (and Staff) are excited about creating models using 3D technology. The 3D printer will benefit ALL of Dutchess BOCES! Dutchess BOCES would be one of the first schools in the area with a 3D printer! Students will benefit through experiences with using the 3D printer tool. Creativity can manifest in every curriculum area! Although the Anime Club is sponsor- ing the funding for the 3D printer, it can be used in many classrooms and buildings! For example, a 3D printer can make models of simple cell structures in Biology class, or it can be used to illustrate mathe- matical concepts, and to create tangible concepts! Anyone can make a donation of money through the Donor’s Choose website. It is a charitable organization that helps classrooms obtain funding for projects. When this book is finished we will be distributing a sample of the book complete with character biographies and illustrations. The Writer’s Club meets on Wednesdays during 4C in room 233.

discuss Anime. Posters are in the corner of room 233 of
past contests. Presently, the Anime Club members are
drawing a poster of Anime
people. The Anime Club is discussing the possibility of
field trips to other events.
HELPING HANDS HALLWAY NEWS
Sunday 23 Feb. at Vassar College
No Such Convention 2014 11:45am. The No Such Organization (NSO) is
an all-around sci-fi/fantasy/comic book/video
game/anime/etc. fan’s organization at Vassar
College. Members host events such as TV and
movie nights, workshops, and games.
PBIS / Student Council / Interact NEWS
The Student Council is working on preparing a Rally by the end of February. Mr. Blair reported that, “ We are trying to get the Dutchess County Executive, Mr. Marc Molinaro to come and speak at the rally.”
Staff are asked to bring clothing that teens could wear to school and look good for job interviews and other formal events. Notice the BETA BOUTIQUE!
The Library is progressing!
Students are categorizing over 800 books, while painting quotes and murals on walls. We are actively seeking a donation of furniture and Mr. Blair has written grants to help support the library.
