Hayward Tyler is a leading manufacturer of pumps and motors that are designed to meet the most demanding of applications and environments. Backed by almost 200 years of industry experience, we offer a comprehensive range of service options that are available every day of the year, anywhere in the world. Hayward Tyler first developed the Glandless (Sealless) Pump Motor in the early 1940’s. Hayward Tyler Glandless Motor Pumps are specifically designed to pump high pressure and high temperature water or other fluids. The key design element is a motor which can operate when full of the pumped medium, which also provides cooling and lubrication. The pump is mounted on an extension of the motor shaft, without any form of dynamic mechanical seals, and the motor is subject to the same internal pressure as the pump but maintained at a relatively low temperature by a heat exchanger. By eliminating mechanical seals, often the primary cause of leakage and failure, Hayward Tyler pumps offer a very high degree of reliability. All 3 pressure vessels (pump, motor and heat exchanger) are connected by flanged joints, creating one continuous pressure boundary, and as the pressure retaining joints are static, the pump can operate at very high pressures and temperatures. Dry Wound Stator Designs ServicedBoiler Water Circulation Pump (BWCP) Repair Program

As a division of the Hayward Tyler Group, the world leader ofBWCPs and wet wound technology, Hayward Tyler Inc. has theunique ability in the marketplace to provide OEM re-engineeringand upgrades for BWCPs to the most advanced materials, processes and parts designs available.

Hayward Tyler, Inc in Colchester Vermont is the North Americanleader in rebuilding all design of wet or dry stator BWCPs builtby any manufacturer. In addition, Hayward Tyler Inc is the OEMfor GE dry wound BWCPs, and is the original design licensor for Fuji wet wound BWCPs.

For KSB, Torishima, Atlas, Ingersoll-Rand and WestinghouseBWCPs, Hayward Tyler Inc reverse engineers and documentsyour motor series the first time it arrives in Colchester.Depending on compatibility with other models previouslyworked on, you should expect an 18-26 week turnaround timethe first time a series is in our shop. After that first repair, partscan be pre-ordered so you can expect normal and expeditiousturn around times.

■ GE dry stator BWCPs were designed for a short period untilthe mid-1970s, primarily on Super Critical once-through boilerdesigns. GE motors are serviced by Hayward Tyler, who is theOEM after acquiring all the OEM drawings and Bills ofMaterials for these products in the 1980s. We can bring yourGE BWCP back to original design with enhancements.

■ Westinghouse dry stator BWCPs were also designed for ashort period until the mid-1970s, primarily on Super Criticalonce-through boiler designs. Westinghouse does not supportthe service of these models. Unlike GE dry stator designs,Westinghouse BWCPs are the most labor intensive motordesign in the marketplace (the motor case needs to be cutapart to perform a rewind), and reverse engineering would berequired. Due to the uniqueness of this product offering, wewould require a review and reverse engineering of the motorthat is coming in for routine maintenance, and not one that hashad a catastrophic failure.

Wet Wound Stator Designs Serviced

■ Hayward Tyler wet wound BWCPs are by far the largestpopulation of BWCPs in North America, and usingoriginal drawings and Bills of Materials, Hayward TylerInc can bring your HT BWCP back to original designwith enhancements.

■ Fuji (a Hayward Tyler licensee) wet wound BWCPsdesigns were developed under a license from HaywardTyler Engineered Products. Today Fuji no longer makesnew equipment BWCPs. While the design licensed wasa previous generation design, the Fuji BWCPs can beadapted to use today’s bearings, glands and otherparts instead of trying to find or make parts that are obsolete.

■ KSB, Torishima (a KSB licensee), Atlas (a KSB licensee)and Ingersoll-Rand wet wound BWCPs have similardesign concepts to a Hayward Tyler unit, and can bereverse engineered by the Hayward Tyler team. Today, none of these manufacturers have service support inNorth America, and I-R stopped manufacturing in theearly 1970s. When your first model in a series arrives atour facility, Hayward Tyler engineers not only reviewyour motor for current repair requirements, but reversedocument nearly all the components and develop adrawings and Bill of Materials for future rebuilds.

■ Ingersoll-Rand glanded BWCPs were developed with a seal, coupling and separate motor. Plants have reported that theyneed a solution to correct seal leakage and other problemsassociated with the seal water injection system. Hayward Tylerhas successfully retrofitted glanded pumps with a HaywardTyler Glandless Motor Over, using the existing pump case andimpeller. Hayward Tyler does not support the repair of the Glanded BWCP design.
