  • 1.0 INTRODUCTION :-

    1.1 RECL (Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd.) a Central Govt. organization,

    has assigned skill Development Training under Corporate Social responsibility

    with MPCON Ltd. in Katni District of Madhya Pradesh.

    The object is to train the men & women of SC/ST/OBC and of

    weaker section to create sustainable sources of employment/self

    employment.

    1.2 India is a developing country with the greater opportunity in Industrial sector

    & service sector. Their is great growth in small & Medium Scale Enterprises

    (SME) in Industry sector particular.

    The promotion entrepreneurs as well as development of

    entrepreneurial skills have been key area for skilled worker.

    1.3 In order to train the person of SC/ST/OBC and weaker section in the trade

    who may have good opportunity for employment or self employment in KATNI

    DISTRICT.

    The trades which are identified are Data Entry Operator, Accountant,

    Electrician, Welding Technician & Store Keeper.

    In context to this, Base Line Survey of Katni District a recommended by

    RECL is carried out by Wama-Tech Computer & Designing Institute of Katni.

    2.0 About Implementing Agency : -

    MPCON Ltd. , is a professionally managed Technical Consultancy

    Organization Promoted by Apex Financial Institutions, PSI Banks and

    Various State Govt. Corporations. Established in 1979, it is the premier

    consulting organization in central India, and has consistently endeavored to

    3.0 ABOUT WAMA TECH :-

    Wama-Tech has been engaged by MPCON to conduct the baseline survey in

    Katni District for assessing need of skill development Training programme in

    the trade i.e. Data Entry Operator, Accountant, Electrician, Welding Technical

    & Store Keeper.

    Wama-Tech is training Centre established in 2000. Wama-Tech is Affiliated

    with NSIC (a Central Govt. organization under PPP mode), AISECT, Usha

    International Ltd. for their various training module. Wama-Tech has conducted

    the training programme for MSME/DUDA/Local Govt. Colleges.

    4.0 METHODOLOGY :-

    4.1 The base line survey has been conducted at Katni District through collection

    of Data available in concerning Deptt. of various Govt. Agencies, as well as

    local Sarpanch and Gram Pramukh and other Public representative.

    The activity undertaken for base line survey is :-

    Collection of Data available

    Collection of information with Govt. Agencies.

    Interaction with local Sarpanch and Gram Pramukh and other Public representative.

    Interaction with Industrial Unit and other business community.

    Interaction with the few target beneficiaries.

    4.2 The survey attempts assess the existing Social/economies set up/

    demographics feature/recourse/type of industrial set up/ and their

    requirement/potentially of trade required and opportunity for beneficiaries.

    Each trade is widely assess on the basis of demand & opportunity.

    5.0 ABOUT PROGRAMME :-

    The programme aims to undertake skill development trainings for SC/ST/OBC

    and weaker section of society for men & women.

    The training will be conducted in 5 trade. i.e. Data Entry Operator/

    Accountant/ Electrician/ Welding/ Technical/Store keeper.

    The programme will be for 125 selected candidate for 3 months period.

    The training will be offer for age group i.e. 18 to 35 with minimum qualification

    of 8th pass to above said society. The main purpose of this project is to

    provide technical support through vocational education.

    The said training will prepare and help for employment/self employment

    to the society as above mentioned.

    6.0 LOCATION OF PROJECT :-

    The project site will be Katni District of Madhya Pradesh. Katni is a

    administrative H.Q. of Katni District and located about 429 K.m. from Capital

    BHOPAL.

    7.0 BASE LINE SURVEY : -

    A baseline survey was undertaken in proposed project areas Katni assess the

    need for initiating skill development programme that would enhance their income.

    This survey was essential in view of :-

    1. To know the number of weaker section families/individuals.

    2. The need of income enhancement.

    3. The capability to take up skill based work.

    4. Level of education.

    The objective of the Basis Line Survey at Katni was to establish the

    availability of target beneficiaries and Employability potential for the 5 trades as

    recommended by RECL.

    8.0 MAJOR SURVEY FINDING :-

    The details and analysis of various parameters covered included

    Demographic, Socio-Economic Set-up, Industrial set-up, availability of target

    beneficiaries and employment potential. The survey details of the districts Katni are

    given in Annexure I & Annexure II.

    The Survey established that there is availability of target group viz.

    SC/ST/OBC/ Women and Economically Weaker Sections of Society in both the

    district which is evident from the survey as given under :-

    9.0 IMPACT ON INDUSTRY :-

    At the moment the industries are seeking trained person for production

    and good management. The availability of trained person is still very short in the

    sector of industry and service. Hence this training programme will create the job

    opportunity to the beneficiary and provide a positive atmosphere for employment.

    This will also reduce the gap of demand and supply.

    10. BENEFIT TO COMMUNITY :-

    The survey showed that a large number of the targeted community was

    interested to learn a trade for income enhancement. This would benefit the

    communities as well as the country at large. There would be a great impact on their

    financial standard as such skill enhancement would ensure 100% employment with

    greater financial returns. The communities would undergo a focused training

    programme under technical supervision.

    SURVEY OUT COME

    As indentified & recommended 5 trades, we have found that there is 4 traders

    have potentiality for training .

    1. Data Entry Operator

    2. Accountant

    3. Electrician

    4. Welding Technical

    The above traders have potential for beneficiaries in existing industrial,

    commercial, services sector.

    Out of above said 4 traders the Data Entry Operator & Accountant are in high

    demand due to the availability of Job Opportunity & self employment criteria

    Men & Women both are interested in the training of these trade.

    The electrician & welding Technical has limited opportunity.

    Katni is a big commercial hub in manufacturing sector (Food Product,

    Cement, Refractory, Lime, Garments) & forth coming mega power plant.

    By WELSPUN and white cement manufacturing plant by BIRLA group

    Apart to this, Katni is a very potential trading hub of various commodities

    Hence it looks that the job opportunity will be good in above trades.

    By assessment it is expected that MPCON. Shall not face any difficulty to

    enroll and train the 125 beneficaries in Katni district and to provide them

    employment /Self employment opportunity.

    Breif Industrial Profile of Katni District

    General Characteristics of the District :

    Katni is an ancient city in which many industries are located in whole district Katni

    district situated in the North Eastren parts of the state of Madhya Pradesh. District

    has a perfect balance between agriculture productivity and industrial developments.

    Paddy, Wheat, Gram and Pulses are the main crops of the district. The district also

    has many industries out of which the most important are the mineral based industries

    and the pulses Mills. Katni is also know as the city of lime, because it is rich in

    reserve of limestone. As minerals are found in large part of katni do the industries of

    minerals based are growing rapidly besides these pulses mills are very much found

    in katni. All these have made good position of katni in commerce and industriy field.

    1.1 Location & Geographical :- Katni is district of Madhya Pradesh state of India and Covers the 4949.50km2 area.

    The district extends from 23 37 to 24 80N and from 79 57 to 80 58E. Height from

    sea level is 392 meter. Mundwara Katni Chooti Mahanadi ans Umdar are the main

    rivers of the district.

    1.2 Topography :

    Katni district has major tourist location, which are Dhimarkhera, Bahoriband,

    Murwara, and Karondi, The climate is moderate, Slimnabad, a village located here is

    famous for its marbles. Mudwara was area wise biggest tehsil of Jabalpur before

    katni came as district in 1998. Climate of katni avarage.

    1.3 Availability of Minerals :

    Katni is known as city od lime. The following minerals are found in various tehsil of

    katni.

    i. Mudwara :

    Lime Stone, dolomite, bauxite, latrite clay, fire clay, soapstone quartz, bartizan,

    calcite etc. are the main minerals found in Mundwara tehsil.

    ii. Vijayraghavgrah :

    Lime stone, dolomite, fireclay, laterite are the main minerals found in this tehsil.
