Of those, three relate particularly to the local Church. They are: Strengthening district emphases; strengthening local churches; and strengthening evangelism & outreach. The first strategy is: Strengthening District Emphases (“Co” = Together) Through Communication (Printed and technology) – Communicating TO the local church is the responsibility of our district organizational departments. The reason this topic is relevant to the local church, however, is that communication is two-way. We’d like to also hear from the local church . What exciting things are happening? What’s working? What isn’t? What are your hopes and dreams? Tell us about your revivals and events that others may like to attend. Through Connection (Together we’re strong, isolated we’re vulnerable) Connecting with the whole district - There are various annual district events through which the local churches can connect. We have district assembly & conventions; children’s, teen & family camps; SDMI Team Day; NMI District Missionary Tour (Deputation); countless youth events; men’s & women’s events; Mt. Vernon Nazarene University events; and children’s & teen Bible quizzing. Ask your pastor about these. Connecting with your zone – Our district is comprised of eight zones where churches are grouped together geographically. Many zones meet for revivals and special events. Why not join in? Through Cooperation (Ministering together) - Local churches may also cooperate in ministry. Cooperation on a VBS (share the props and the workers on different weeks); a shared revival to reduce costs; pastors exchanging pulpits for a revival or other event; What about combined outreach events & service projects?; Maybe share cantatas and other holiday events. Wouldn’t it be great if we communicated, connected, and cooperated better? “Co” means together. Together we’re strong. Isolated we’re vulnerable. I’d love to hear some of your thoughts and ideas on these. Email me at [email protected].

Time to ask?
The Bible says "You have not cause you ask not." How
many people could you get into your church on the same
Sunday if you set a date and ask all of those associated
with your church to attend? Maybe send out letters to
your entire church family with date and time and ask
them to put it on their refrigerator to serve as a
reminder. How many people would come to your church
if everyone in your church started just extending a
friendly invitation to their family and friends to
come? How many people would get saved if we shared
our testimony, and then asked those close to us if they
would like to accept Jesus as their savior? How many
people might want to join your church as a member if
you extended them an invitation.

encourage you all to stay busy for our Master!
Recently a beloved former EKD pastor, Rev.
Jim Lanham, shared the following with our church.
If the church (my church!) ever starts……
Praying—right now!
Giving—right now!
Fasting—right now!
Winning Souls—right now!
Praising God—right now!
No telling what kind of revival we could have—right now!
If a saint of God (me!) would ever start…..
Dedicating their life totally to God—right now!
Living for Him—right now!
Reading the Bible—right now!
Fasting—right now!
No telling what God could do through that person—right now!
Satan says….start tomorrow, next week, next year….he is
greatly afraid of what we do RIGHT NOW!
