ARTICLES ขอควรร 1. Articles คอ ค าน าหนานาม (noun) แบงออกเปน 2 ชนด คอ Definite Articles และ Indefinite Articles 2. Definite Articles คอ ค าน าหานามทช เฉพาะ “ the ” ใชไดทงนามนบได (countable noun) และนามนบไมได (uncountable noun) 3. Indefinite Articles คอ ค าน าหนานามทไมช เฉพาะ “ a , an ” ใชไดกบนามนบไดเอกพจน (singular countable noun) เทานน

Indefinite a , an

1. ใช a an เพอแสดงจ านวน “หนง” I have a book. ฉนมหนงสอ 1 เลม This is a cat. นคอแมว 1 ตว 2. a , an คอ ค าน าหนาค านามทไมชเฉพาะ ใชกบค านามนบไดเอกพจน a ใชน าหนานาม นบไดเอกพจนทอกษรตวแรกเปนพยญชนะ A boy is running. He is a teacher. There is a grey elephant in a zoo. และรวมทงค านามทอกษรตวแรกเปนสระแตออกเสยงเปนพยญชนะ a European , a Union , a uniform , a university ( e และ u ออกเสยงเปน ย ) 3. ใช an น าหนานามนบไดเอกพจนทมอกษรตวแรกเปนสระ (a e i o u) A dog is an animal. สนขเปนสตวชนดหนง An army is coming here. ขาศกก าลงมาทน I like an orange very much. ฉนชอบสมมาก

และรวมทงค านามทอกษรตวแรกเปนสระแตออกเสยงเปนพยญชนะ an honest boy (เดกชายผซอสตย) , an hour (ชวโมง) ( h ออกเสยงเปน อ ) 4. a , an ในการบอกอตราตอหนงหนวย This car traveled at seventy miles an hour. รถคนนแลนดวยความเรว 70 ไมล ตอชวโมง She reads her boy – friend’s letter three times a day. หลอนอานจดหมายแฟนวนละ 3 ครง NOTE 1. a , an ไมใชกบนามรปพหพจน เชน There are three books on the table. 2. ไมมการใช articles ใดๆ หนาชอประเทศ ถนน เมอง บคคล เมอค านามนนเปนนามเฉพาะ We live in Thailand. Definite Articles (the) คอค าน าหนานามทชเฉพาะในภาษาองกฤษ ใชกบนามนบไดและนบไมได มหลกการใชดงน 1. ใชเพอชเพราะในกรณทไดพดถงสงเหลานนมาแลว หรอมสวนขยายเพอชใหเหนวาเปน สงเหลานนแนๆ There was a bird on a tree.
