Situated in the East end of Glasgow, the building is facing the main square and becomes significant viewpoint when arriving from the train station. It is located on the junction of two main pedestrians pathways, which encourages the ground floor to be used as a studio or commercial spaces. 17 flats, from which 3 mai-sonettes, 4studio flats and 10 two bedrooms flats have access to the public roof garden. Maisonettes have private roof terraces.

CHENGDU-SMART CITY: URBAN PROTOTYPEChengdu, China

Prototype “ Rice Industry Hub” is a device for connecting multiple components into systems together and making them act as a sin-gle network segment in order to balance urban and agricultural land. An increasing problem in Chengdu is a signifficant contrast of agricultural and urban areas. In addition to this, agricultural area became uncontrollable space which is more and more often occu-pied by industrial and residential buildings. It leaves no space for traditional idea of being in harmony with nature in living environ-ment.

After research it appeared that agricultural land in 5th ring is most-ly occupied by rice paddies. Rice straw waste could be recycled in a different ways to get eco products like biomass energy from rice husks and various types of building materials from rice straws. In order to create a sustainable cycle prototype considers three dif-ferent stages of urbanisation.

BRIEF: To design a weather monitoring station, including teaching classrooms.

Situated on the North sea beach, half hidden by the cliff, the monitoring centre tower emphasizes the difference of water level during the day. Also together with existing aquarium creates a learning hub in the town. The middle floor, which is an open space for experiments and observations, sep-arates monitoring centre’s private offices from public teaching spaces.Old swimming pool nearby is converted to a mini tidal power station, which pro-vides more than a half energy needed throughout the year.

BRIEF: house of worship.

The new chapel was designed as a continous part of the old protestant church situated on the same street. New worship place is located on the edge of “old” Inveraray, and overlooks new town. The concept of two walls arised out from the contrast of the site. Busy street is disappearing unveiling the view to the loch as the entrance to the chapel emphasizes exit of the outer world and entrance to the spiritual world.

CHENGDU-SMART CITY WORKSHOPChengdu, China 12-22 05 2012

The workshop was held in collaboration with Southwest Jiatong university architecture students, local and international architec-tural practices. It was a continuation of our project started in Technical University of Berlin, where we have to design a pro-totype First phase was field trips and observation of the sites.Next phase was a game, which was played together with local students and guests to try out our prototypes in different situa-tions and locations. The goal was to get feedback and improve our projects. In addition to this, each group had to set interviews with au-thorities which are included into individual projects. We enjoyed meeting agricultural waste expert and Jiakun architects.

TEMPORARILY LABYRINTH WORKSHOPBriggait, Glasgow, Scotland30 03 2011

Being a part of a big community project by National Theatre of Scotland, Architecture + Design Scotland was asked to facilitate workshops for a primary school, inspired by the story of Icarus. Architecture studio Stone Opera designed and presented ‘ A Temporarily Labyrinth’, built by all pupils . The structure was made out of plumbing material, pipes and joints, and is for eve-rybody to see and experience . The labyrinth was built by pupils from Blackfriars Primary School with the help of architecture stu-dents from Strathclyde university.

RECLAIMING PUBLIC SPACE FLASHMOBSVarious different places of Kaunas, Lithuania2008

Street performances were continous flashmobs in different pub-lic places of Kaunas city, which we organised to attract people and governmental instiitutions attention to unused spaces. Flashmobs in-volved musicians and artists which we invited to join us to help wake up a sense of community and sense of safe streets,
