Joyce, her husband and son moved to Saint John from China almost one year ago. She lives in the neighborhood and was looking for ways to improve her English. After asking around she was told that Kennebec Manor needed volunteers in their activity department. Back in November, she met with Dorothy, our Di- rector of Activities and the rest is history. Joyce is doing an excellent job in mastering the English language and has won the hearts of our residents with her pleasant personality and win- ning smile. She enjoys various activities with the residents. She loves assisting with crafts or playing BINGO or giving a helping hand on the bus outings. Joyce, thank you for sharing with us and God bless you!! Sharon & Nancy

Volunteer of the Month

We are pleased to have Joyce (Zhi Hong Shen) volunteering at Kennebec Manor, she has been

with us since November 2013 and we love her.

Joyce, her husband and son moved to Saint

John from China almost one year ago.

She lives in the neighborhood and was looking for ways to improve her English. After asking around she was told that Kennebec Manor needed

volunteers in their activity department.

Annual Easter Fruit Basket Fundraiser

Our annual Easter Fruit Basket Fundraiser is now in full swing! The baskets will be filled with fresh fruit, with maybe a treat or two hidden inside. See the front desk to

place an order, cost is $25.00

The baskets will be ready for pick up Thursday, April 17th, in time for Easter!!

St. Patrick’s Day at Kennebec Manor

“Irish Eyes “ were certainly smiling at Kennebec Manor as we celebrated

St. Patrick’s Day. It had been a week long celebration with various

activities then topped-off with a tea and a beautiful cake donated by

the Irish Society.

Do you like to have fun, decorate, connect with people and most

importantly LOVE CHOCOLATE??

The Foundation is in the early stages of planning a signature

event to fundraise for Kennebec Manor and Kings Way Care Centre.

This event is tentatively booked for October 26 at the Saint John Trade &

Convention Centre.

If you would like to participate in the planning of this One Of A Kind event

in New Brunswick, please contact Kim in the Foundation office ASAP –

847-1131, ext. 1124

Some of the other activities the Kennebec Manor residents enjoyed

during the month of March were: birthday parties, entertainment,

dancing, bowling, baking & eating out.

WE NEED YOUR IDEAS!!!

Spring is here, believe it or not!!!

Once the snow melts we will be able to set up our wheelchair accessible swing that we were able to purchase last fall with the funds raised from our annual fall walk a thon! Thanks to the generosity of all our families, friends, residents and staff!

We are in the planning phases of this year's event and are looking for ideas on what we should be fundraising for. Please submit your ideas to the front office, Tammy Allaby or the nursing station. We have put a sheet up for ideas at the nursing

station. Please have ideas submitted by April 15th.

Put your thinking caps on!! We already have a few very good ideas so keep them coming!!
