thePrairieValleySchoolDistrictwillagaintaketothepollstodecidethefateofthepro-posedPhysicalPlantandEquipmentlevy(PPEL).
Thetax levywasdefeatedbyanarrowmargin
inFebruary,andthoseonbothsidesof theissuehopethat this
timetherewill be a greater awareness on the part of
votersbothwithregardtothevotingdate,andthedetailsofthelevyitself.
Theschooldistricthasorganizedamassmailingtoallresidentsinthedistricttoadvisethemofthecomingvote.
While thePrairieValleySchoolDistrict is notoperating in the red
this year, and the next year is
ex-pectedtosecureenoughfunds,itisexpectedthedistrictwillrunintoabudgetshortfallbyyearsfourandfiveasthedistrictstrugglestokeepupwithnecessarybuildingrepairs.
The proposed Physical Plant and
EquipmentLevywillallowthedistricttoprepareforveryexpensiverepairssuchasroofandwindowreplacementatthehighschool,andotherconcernsattheelementarybuildinginFarnhamville,includingparkinglotrepairs,aswellasthereplacementoftwoair-conditioningunits.
AccordingtoSoutheastValleyBoardSecretaryLisaWillardson,aschoolmaydipintoitsgeneralfundtosecurecostsofinfrastructuredevelopments,butaswithmostschoolyears,thegeneralfundistypicallystretchedtoitslimitstoaccommodatethecostsofstaffandteachersalaries,photocopyingcosts,materialsandsupplies,busfuel,etc.
When an unexpected repair becomes prudent,
often theresastruggle tosecure funding.
Anexampleofthisoccurredrecentlyastheelevatoratthehighschoolrequireda$36,000repair.Additionally,itbecameneces-sarytoreplacethebleachersandthegymfloorduringthe2013-2014schoolyear.PPELfundswereusedtoreplacetheseatacostof$150,000.
SuperintendentLoisIrwincautionsthatifthesemaintenance issues are
not addressed, the district mayhave todip into
theacademicfundforessential repairsthatcannotbedelayed.Shepredicts
thismay lead toasnowballeffectinwhichmoreandmoreconcernsare

TheGowrieCityCouncilmetMonday,March23,todiscussseveralpressingissues.Itwasannouncedthat
Shelley Segebart resigned from her position asGowrieCityClerk.
Though her resignation was verbal,
mayor,DaveStokesbaryindicatedhewouldsecureawrittenres-ignationfromheraswell.Stokesbaryadmittedhewouldhavewantedtwoweeksadvancenoticebeforetheposi-tionwasvacated,butthiswasntpossible.
Hesaidhenotifiedmembersofthecouncilviatexttoadvisethemofthesituation.ThecityhasplacedanadwiththeGowrieNews,andhasalsocontactedIowaWorkforceDevelopmentandtheFortDodgeGrowthAl-liancetosecureapoolofcandidates.
Those interested in applying for this positionshould submit
anapplicationbyApril16th.
Currently,thisisaparttimeposition,butthecitymayconsiderex-pansionofhourstofulltimewithbenefits.
Council member, Gayle Redman, expressedconcern that the blame for
Segebarts departure
wasplacedonher.IwastoldinatextfromthemayorthatIshouldntbebehindthedesk,saidRedman.
GayleRedmanexplainedshehasextensiveex-periencewithaccountingpractices,andthecityisinneedofherassistance.Imnotgoingtothrowmyhandsupandwalkaway,sheexplained.Ihavemoreallegiancetothistownthanthat.
Mayor Dave Stokesbary countered that
GayleRedmanreportedlyadvisedinterimcityclerk,ElissaMo-bley,Itsuptoyou,regardingwhetherornotshewassupposedtoworkontwospecificdays.
StokesbaryalsoexpressedconcernthatRedmanhadtakenMulligansaccountingbookstoherresidence.Theresatrustissuebetweenus,saidStokesbary.
However, Redman explained she is
extremelyworriedaboutthestateofthecitysfinances,andsheisonlytryingtohelp.TheseareallthingsImstumbling
across,andIwanttofixwhatshere,shecontinued. You [Mayor
Stokesbary] keep putting stum-blingblocksinfrontofme.
ItwasrevealedthatMulligansrevenuein2014forboth
theclubhouseandmembershipfeeswasabout$150,000,andatataxrateof7%,Mulligansshouldhavepaid
approximately $10,000 to the state. According toRedman, it appeared
$23,000 was actually paid to thestate.
However,Redmanrepeatedlyemphasizedtherehavebeendifficultieswiththecomputerusedtoachievethesefigures,andshecantstatewithcertaintythattheyarecorrect.
Sohowbadisit?inquiredcouncilpersonJoeHarrisonregardingthecitysfinancialaffairs.
Its bad, explained Redman without hesita-tion. Asdiscussion
continued regarding the state
ofGowriesfinancesandRedmansinvolvementintermsofsortingoutthesituation,Gowrieresident,AlanWootersexpressedhisfeelings.Ifsheswillingtohelpus,letherdoit.
Additionally,vigorousdebatecenteredonhowmuchwasbeingaskedoftheinterimcityclerk,assheisrelativelynewtothisoffice.Araremomentofconsen-suswasachievedasitappearedeveryoneacknowledgedplacingthismuchburdenonElissaMobleywasnotfair.
YoucantexpectElissatoopenallthemailandfindall
theseproblemsandbepreparedfor them,saidRedman. ChuckAngstrom raised
an additional concernregarding Patrice Klingsons assistance with
regard
toeventunfoldinginthecityoffice.Angstromreportedthatduringthelastweek,Klingsonspent22hoursinthecityofficehelpingoutuponSegebartsdeparture.Ineedherhereatthelightplant,saidAngstrom.Someonehastoassumeherpositionassheiscalledaway,andthattakesoneofmyguysawayfromworkthatneedstobedone.

alMushabbir,andMeganSnyder,wowedtheaudiencewithtworivetingperformances.
Megan Snyder personified Meryl Streeps
gut-wrenchingsoliloquyofawomanhauntedbyNaziatroci-tiesinSophiesChoice.HerGermanaccentwasunbeliev-ablyontarget,andtheaudiencewasinabsoluteaweofherperformancebeforebreakingintothunderousapplause.
When asked how she achieved such an
accent,SnydersimplyrespondedshehadworkedwithMr.Bran-donLewis,highvocalteacher,foraboutanhour.
Hegavemeacheatsheetandtoldmethingslikersaresaidlikethis,Snyderexplained.
Following this, Mueeze al Mushabbir gave
arivetingperformanceofaman,obviouslystrugglingwithmentaldeclineandconfusion,desperatelytryingtomakesenseofhisworldevenashismentalfacultiesdeteriorate.Withoutbreakingcharacter,Mueezemovedtheaudiencewitha
rangeofemotions far superior
towhatmayhavebeenexpectedfromahighschoolstudent.
Thesubjectmatterwasforfromtrivial,andnotalikelyselectionforahighschoolstudent.Followingtheperformances
many expressed great admiration for
thespeechprogramandremarkedthisfineworkmighthavebeenoverlookediftheyhadnotperformedinfrontoftheschoolboard.
Nineteenstudents from thedistrict competedata state competition.
Fourteen of the students,
includingalMushabbirandSnyderreceivedall1s.SnyderandalMushabbirwillcompeteatthe37thannualAllStateFesti-valonMondayMarch30th,atUNI.

Astheschoolboardmeetingcommenced,itwasannouncedthePhysicalPlantandEquipmentLevy(PPEL)willagaincomeupforavoteonApril7th.Aflyerdescrib-ing
thepurposeof this levywillbedispersed
toallpostofficeboxesandresidencesinthedistrict.
Additionally,publicforumsarebeingorganizedto inform residents about
PPEL, and also to provide
achanceforquestionsandfeedbackfromthoseresidinginthePrairieValleySchoolDistrict.ThetwoforumswerescheduledMonday,March30,at6p.m.at
theFarnham-ville FC Community Room and at 6 p.m.March 30 at
theCallenderCommunityCenter.PVadministratorsandschoolboardmembersconductedthepublicforums.
It certainlywonthurt toprovidemoreoppor-tunities to learn about
PPEL, explained Prairie
ValleySchoolBoardmember,HeidiMcGuire.But,ifwerego-ingtoholdpublicforums,wereallyneedtoadvertise.
Iknoweveryoneinourcommunityisinterestedinkeepingthebuildingsinourdistrictwell-maintained,offeredPrairieValleysuperintendent,LoisIrwin.Iftheyunderstandwerestarting
toslidebackwards in
termsofmaintenanceandfacilities,Imsuretheywillbelievetheyneedtosupportthis[PPEL].Other
business
Itwasreportedthataschoolbussustainedminordamagetoawindshield.Thecurrentinsurancepolicyre-quiresa$1,000deductible,andrepairestimateisfarlessthanthis,sotheboardvotedunanimouslytofixthewind-shield.
Itshouldbenotedthedistricthasrecentlysaved$50,000/yearbyswitchinginsurancecompanies.
Additionally, theearly retirementpolicy for
thedistrictwasdiscussed.Tobeprudent,weshouldelimi-natetwofulltimestaffmembersbyApril30th,suggestedsuperintendent,LoisIrwin.Shewentontheexplainthatthedistrictneverwantstolayoffteachers,andidentifiedlucrativeretirementpackagesasmoreeffectivemeansofreducingthebudget.
PrincipalJimHenrichagreedandsuggested,Itmakes sense to offer early
retirement instead ofmakingcuts.

Saddlebrookisacommunityinthefoothillsofthemountainsabout25milesnorthofTuscon.Thecom-munityisknownforitsmountainviewsandseveralgolfcourses.
Attendingwere about 20 peoplewho all haveDayton roots, and their
spouses. CurrentDayton resi-dents attending the sessions were Chuck
and
LindaDanielson,DickLiljegren(accompaniedbyPatTuelofStratford),andGlennSchreiber.
NelsonsupbringingwasinDaytoninthe1950s.He leftDaytonat theendof
theeighthgradewhenhisfamilymovedtoMinnesota.ButJimstillconsidersDay-ton
his home town and cherishes thememories he hadgrowingupinDayton.
Nelson is a very successful entrepreneur andownsabout50homes
thatweredesigned
toaccommo-datethementallyill.HisbusinesshasflourishedandlastyearNelsonwonanawardsponsoredbytheMinneapolisStar&Tribune.Nelsonsenterprisewasrecognizedforseekingvaluableinputfromstaffandthenutilizingthatinformationtoimprovetheservicesgiventothementallyill.

threegroupswith leaders
ineachgroup,oneofwhomwasChuckDanielson.ThesessionfocusedonmemorysharingonDayton.
The Danielsons stayed in the guest house
onthelargeNelsonresidentiallotandseveralotherformerDayton residents
stayedFridaynight at a
secondhomeadjacenttotheNelsonresidence.TheotherDaytonresi-dentshadaccommodationsattheCatalinaInn.Theac-

Dayton friends reuniteat special gathering. . . Jim Nelson,
seated, formerly of Dayton, never forgot his Dayton roots. He is a
good friend of Chuck Danielson, Dayton, who presented an award to
his friend concerning a certain membership in a Dayton club of boys
organized in the fifties. Well have a big-ger story on the Dayton
memories weekend in our next edition.

ResidentsofthePrairieValleySchoolDistricthave a long history of

itssomethingweneed, theyrelikelytobesupportive. In contrast, PPEL
funds may not be used forcostsnotdictatedby the tax levy. For
example,PPELfundsmaynotbeusedtocoverteacherssalariesorfuelcostsorbooksandmaterials.

rememberoldtimesIwonderwheretheyearswent.ItdoesntseemthatlongagothatIwasateenagerattendingBoxholmConsolidatedHighSchool.But,thenrealizationsetsinandIrememberitwasthatlongagoandoverhalfofmyclassmateshavegonetotheirgreatreward.But,manyofthememoriesofthosetimesarepleasantandworthremembering.
Ididsomethinginmyhighschoolyears,eveninmyjuniorandsenioryears,thatnohighschoolboyorgirlwouldbe,asthesayinggoes,caughtdeaddoingtoday.DuringthegoodweatherdaysofspringandfallIrodemybicycletoschool!!Iwouldleaveitnearthesumacbushesonthenorthsideoftheschoolyard(nearwhere
thegym isnow). Itwould still be there
sixorsevenhourslaterexactlyasIhadleftit!Ineverownedabikelock.ButthatwasBoxholminthe1940s.

office...cameonthefirstinterurbantrolleyandnotclosinguntillaterintheday.IbelieveSwen,herhusband,spelledherforalunchbreakandothertimes.Theplacemayhave
closed earlier on Saturdays. That is beyondmymemory.
WhydidItrytostopeveryday?Well,Myrtlewasoneofthetownsbestsourcesforgos----er----ah--NEWS!Ialsolikedtalkingtoherbecause,likeEs-therLundvall,shewasagreatsourceforthehistoryofthepeopleofthearea.Ithinkinmostsmalltownsthatprobablyistrueofthepostmaster,especiallyonewhohas
livedallormostof their lives
thereandhasdeeprootsinthecommunity.Thisisprobablytrueofasec-ondcousin,whohasbeenthepostmasterinSt.Charles,Iowaforalongtime.HeisafifthgenerationDownsinthecommunity.Mygreatgrandfather,hisgreatgreat,wasthefirstpostmasterofthetown.IremembergoingtovisitmyfolksinBoxholmforafewdaysatatimeafterIhadacoupleorsochildrenandtakingthemuptowntoexperienceapostofficevisitandastorevisit.TheymaynotrememberastheywerestillquiteyoungwhenIwentbacktowork.
Thepostofficevisitsarejustafewamongmymanymemories.Idoubtthatgenerationsthathavefol-lowedmegot
toexperience such. Perhaps
therewasstillsomeofthepostofficecommunitycommunicationwhenmyclassmate,JohnMalmquistheldthejobbutbythattimemostofmyBoxholmvisitswereSundayonessoIneverhadthepleasureofgoingintoseehimandgetthetownNEWS.
Everysooftenwehearofseveralsmalltownpost offices being closed or
stuck in the corner of aremaining town business. Are these offices,
like somanyschools,alsoon their last leg? Howwill
thetownspeoplereceivetheirmail?Willtheyhavetoputaboxnearthestreetorhangonebytheirdoor?Iwouldhope
theywouldnthave to travel

inthedistrictwillreceiveamailingonthisimportantmattersometimethisweek.
ThisPhysicalPlantandEquipmentLevy(PPEL)voteisvitallyimportantforthePrairieValleySchoolDis-trict.
Themoney received can only be used for
infra-structureand/orequipment.Thesebuildingexpenditureswouldincluderoofrepairs,heating/coolingsystems,win-dows,schoolbusesandsoforth.Majorroofrepairsareneededinthenextseveralyears.
I attended the public hearing on the tax
levymatterbackinJanuaryfortheSWGschooldistrict.Bothschoooldistrictswereseekinga$1taxlevyperthousanddollarsofvaluation.Ididlistentothepresentationandthen
talkedwitha farmerandfinancial consultant
afterthepresentation.Ihavestudied/reviewedtheSWGtaxlevymatterthatwase-mailedtomebySupt.RichStof-fers,andagainthetaxlevyvotewasverysimilarsincebothdistrictswereseekingthesame$1taxlevy.
ThePPELvoteisntperfect,butitisrelativelyfairandrelativelyinexpensive.Mostpeoplewillbepay-inganextra$5
to$8 permonthfor
thenext10years,whileensuringthatthePVschooldistrictmaintainsandimprovesitsinfrastructureandequipment.Farmersown-ing
farmland will pay more simply because they
havehighervaluations.Afarmerwith$1millioninvaluationwillpayanextra$1,000peryear.
Thereturnforalldistrictresidentsisexcellent,ifoneplacessignificantvaluetotheirfacilitiesandbeingabletokeepupwithtechadvances.
TherewillbesomeinCallenderwhoareupsetwiththeirschoolsituation.Withempathyanyonecanun-dertandtheirfeelings.
But in
thisfastchangingworldmanyhardchoicesneedtobemade,andsometimescom-pletefairnessisimpossible.
Withayesvoteeveryonewillbenefit,eitherdi-rectlyorindirectly.
ThiswillbeamajorvictoryforallK-12 students, andparentswill also
share the benefits.Having excellent school facilities and equipment
will
leadtoabettereducationalenvironment.Andthefinan-cialpressureswilleaseforeveryone.
ThePrairieValleySchooldistrictisinaleader-shipposition.AftermonthsofnegotiationsandmeetingbetweenthetwoschoolboardsitwasdeterminedthatthehighschoolbelocatedinGowrieforbothdistrictswhileretaininganelementaryschoolnearFarnhamville.Thiswastherightdecision,althoughmanypeopleintheSWGschooldistrictdidnotagreeatthattime.
Ifyouputthekidsfirst,youwillvoteyes.Ifyouputyourselffirst,thequalityoflifeissuefortheschooldistrictwillbeenhanced.Propertyvalueswillreflectthatandsoayesvoteforpropertyownersmakesgoodsensealso.Asacommunity,thiswillbeamajorstepforward.
Parents, grandparents and relatives of the
stu-dentswillallenjoythismajorachievement.Andthein-vestmentisveryreasonable.
AspecialschoolelectionforPrairieValleyCommu-nitySchoolDistrictwillbeheldApril7,2015.Thespe-cialelectionconcernsthePhysicalPlantandEquipmentLevy.ThePPELwouldauthorizetheBoardofDirectorsofthePrairieValleyCommunitySchoolDistricttolevyandimposeaphysicalplantandequipmenttaxforape-riodof10years.
The polls will open at 12:00 p.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. The
polling places for the election are Prairie Valley Middle School,
3116 Zearing Ave., Farnham-ville, Iowa for Director District Number
1; Callender Community Center 505 Thomas St. Callender, Iowa for
Director District Number 2; and Gowrie Commu-nity Center 1204
Market St., Gowrie, Iowa for Direc-tor District Number 3.
The tax is currently 33 cents for every $1,000 ofproperty
valuation. The new levy would increase
thistaxto$1.00forevery$1,000ofpropertyvaluation.ThelevywouldalsoallowtheBoardofDirectorstoimposeaphysicalplantandequipmentincomesurtaxtoeachin-dividualincometaxpayerinthedistrictattheendofthecalendaryearbeginningwiththe2015calendaryearoreachyearafter.Thepercentofincometaxwouldnotex-ceed20%peryear.Thetotaltaxwouldnotexceed$1.00per$1,000valuation.

local chapter members were presented with the Iowa Farmer Degree

A public meeting was held at 6:00 p.m. in the Southeast Valley
High School Library to discuss and answer questions about the voter
approved PPEL being held on April 7. As no public members were in
attendance, the Prairie Valley Education Association presented
their initial proposal to begin the compensation negotiations for
fiscal year 2016. Barb Langner presented on behalf of the PVEA. The
Board has 2 weeks to respond with a counter proposal. At date will
be determined for the Board to give their counter.

The Prairie Valley Community School District held their regular
business meeting Thursday, March 19, 2015 in the Prairie Valley
Junior Senior High School Library. President Shannon Miller called
the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Present: Shannon Miller, Jim
Carlson, Heidi McGuire, John Field, Gary Welter; Absent: Brain
Holmgaard, Joe Harrison Also Present: Lois Irwin, Lisa Willardson,
Jim Duncan, Jim Henrich and 4 public members. Moved by Welter,
seconded by McGuire to approve the agenda with the change of moving
speech up for the convenience of the speech students. Ayes: Miller,
Welter, Carlson, McGuire, Field Nays: None Motion Carried:5-0
Shannon Miller reported that he had attended the Maker Space Day at
the Elementary School. Complimented on how great it was. The
liaison committee met and talked about any needed recommendations.
None were made. Jim Carlson and Heidi McGuire reported on the
facilities committee meeting. Most of the meeting was spent talking
about the PPEL vote. No public participation. Ruth Nellis spoke
about the individual speech contest this year. There were 21
speeches and 19 received a superior and moved to state. Of the 19
at state, 14 received a 1 rating. 10 of them received all 1s from
all of the judges. Meagan Snyder made All State as well. Ruth was
followed by 2 of the individual speech presentations. The first by
Meagan Snyder, who did a script speech. Her script was from Sophies
Choice by William Styron. Meagan did it in an impressive German
accent. Her presentation was very emotional and moving. Meagan was
followed by exchange student Mueeze Mushabbir who did a monologue
in the acting category. His monologue was a comedy about a man who
believed that his overwhelming body odor was the cause for the
distance between him and the other people in his life, even though
everyone told him he had no odor what so ever. It was a humorous
and very well done presentation. Everyone was really appreciative
and proud of the speeches. Moved by Carlson, seconded by Field to

hearing is set for April 2, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at the Southeast
Valley High School Library. A discussion was held regarding the
possibility of offering an early retirement incentive this year.
The board concluded that they did not want to offer it this year. A
plan for mailers for the PPEL was discussed. A mailer will go out
the week before the vote. Moved by Carlson, seconded by Field to
accept the first reading and wave the second reading of the new
Southeast Valley High School Graduation requirements, policy 501.2.

Elementary Maker Space Day was a huge success. Assistance from all
who helped was much appreciated. Jeromy Keehn did a lot of work
setting it up, as well as Andrea Walsh, Jill Rasmussen, Calhoun
County, the AEA, ISU and parent volunteers. Manson has contacted us
about doing one at their school as well. The kids loved it. Parent
teacher conferences went well. There was a good turn out. They are
wrapping up the Iowa Core this year. Kindergarten Roundup is March
20, 2015. Kindergarten numbers are down from previous years, but
the preschool numbers for next year look strong. Family fun Night
will be April 9th, and the book fair will take place then as well.
The are planning co-field trips with Dayton Elementary.

The Webster County Board of Supervisors, has received a
construction permit application for a confinement feeding
operation, more specifically described as follows: Name: Keaton
Mosher
Location: Section 3 of Roland Township Type of confinement
feeding operation structure proposed: One new 3210 head deep pit
swine finisher confinement building at an existing swine
confinement facility.Animal Unit Capacity of the Operation after
expansion: 2280 animal units. (5700 swine finishers)
Examination: Application is on file in Webster County Auditors
Office and is available for pubic inspection during the normal
working hours of 8:00a.m. to 4:30p.m., Monday through Friday.
Comments: Written comments may be filed at the Webster County
Auditors office addressed to the Webster County Board of

Gowrie City CouncilSpecial Session on March 23, 2015
The Gowrie City Council met in a special session on March 23,
2015 at 6:30 p.m. at the Gowrie Civic/Community Center with Mayor
Stokesbary in the chair and the following Council members answering
roll call: Redman, Harrison, and Jackson, Willardson at 6:35.
Absent: Petersen. The reasons for the meeting were to discuss:
Carroll Refuse, Clerks Position and Resignation, Mulligans 2014
Revenue, Additions and Removal of Signature Cards at the Bank,
Approve Clean-up Days, Purchasing or Repairing of Cities Computer.
Addition to the meeting was a request from Kenyon Construction with
new Caseys needing to block off Pleasant Street from March 30th to
April 1st to store the gravel while they bury the tanks. Discussion
was held with Carroll Refuge with owners attending the meeting to
answer questions. Decision will be made at the April meeting.
Discussion was held on the new City Clerk position, advertising in
the Gowrie News, Iowa Workforce Development, and Fort Dodge Growth
Alliance, the deadline for taking applications is April 16.
Willardson moved to allow Gayle Redman in the City Clerks office to
help resolve past issues. Second by Jackson. Motion carried-all
ayes. Mulligans revenues for 2014 were discussed. Redman motioned
to remove Shelley as a signer on all city bank accounts. New
signers are: Dave Stokesbary, Jeff Petersen, Gayle Redman, and
Elissa Mobley. Second by Willardson, motion carried-all ayes. Arts
Council checking remove Diane Adam and Shelley Segabart, signers
same as other accounts plus Colleen Palmer and Julie Petersen.
Second by Harrison, motion carried-all ayes. Another addition to
the meeting was discussion about the Food Pantry and having Shelley
Segebarts name removed from the committee and they will decide who
will be their signatures, also the taxes and having it under the
City or giving it to one of the Churches. Dave will have Marla look
into it. Tabled until next months meeting. Motion to approve City
clean up days set for May 4th 8th Second by Harrison, motion
carried-all ayes. Harrison moved to approve $500.00 to be spent on
Harland Technology Services to repair the Citys computer. Second by
Jackson, motion carried by roll-call all ayes. Willardson moved the
closing of Pleasant Street on March 30-April, second by Harrison.

public notice pertaining to the Rehabilitation Grant. Petersen
moved to approve the Rehabilitation Grant pay request in the amount

Jim Henrich reported the following on the High School We
received our results from Iowa Assessments last week. At first
glance I am pretty happy with the results. I will share the results
at next board meeting, when I have looked more closely at the
results.May Term registration is almost complete, and teachers are
nearly done planning their classes. I feel strongly that if the
weather holds up students and teachers will really enjoy this new
experience. FFA banquet is March 24th. I will be meeting with
current 8th graders on March 26th in the gym, starting at 6:30. We
will go through introductions, expectations, start the process for
registering for classes and do building tours. We will meet again
in August to finalize everything. Mrs. Hanson and the special
education teachers will also be helping out on the 26th. Spring
sports are in full gear, and the numbers participating look strong.
