General Information

This release replaces all previous major, minor and emergency releases. All changes included in a major release will also be included in a minor release. There is no downtime needed to install a release unless specifically mentioned in the Trust Implementation Issues section. All sites can be upgraded to this release of CRIS. No changes are included in a release until the change passes all tests and that change has no known issues or has caused any new known issues at the time of release. Each release of CRIS is not normally released with any known major issues unless specifically mentioned in the know issues section.

3. Trust Implementation Issues

This section details issues which must be addressed by the Trust before a release or, where they are for issues which are only by request, before a particular feature is activated.

3.1 Standard issues:

216378 - Configurable LMP RulesRequired Trust Action: Any exams that are LMP sensitive will be changed to use the 28 day rule. Any exam codes that should use the 10 day rule will need to be configured in either the Exams or the Exams Per Hospital setup table.

Issues reported in a particular release, HEAD or otherwise, may also be pertinent to other releases of CRIS.

4.1 Application Launcher

Description: Right clicking on event with invoice in event list throws NullPointerException in the console. The menu still appears. The issue doesn't seem to affect the user but the error appears in the console.Resolution: Event list right-click sub-menu now opens without error when event has an invoice number.

This change requires the print formats to be manually updated by HSS.

Also, selecting the 'Cancel' button closes the dialog appropriately.

Description: When creating a new exam costs policy a dialogue page must be filled in. On this page there are several coded fields where double clicking or pressing F4 on the list brings up a list of possible codes. If you use the mouse then this works correctly but if you try to navigate up and down the list using the keyboard the list disappears before you can select one of the options list.Resolution: The appropriate options on any of the prompt field's table can now be chosen with the mouse or the keyboard.

Description: If billing is enabled and you are in post processing mode then both the billing and post processing screens are displayed when you attend an event. When you press continue on the billing page the event is saved which saves the operator that has been defaulted in to the post processing page. If you then clear the patient without changing any post processing details the event will have saved as post processedResolution: The workflow order has now changed. In 'Post Processing' or 'Sonographer' mode, when a new event is attended, selecting the 'Attend & Process' button brings up the 'Billing' page, as before, but no 'Post Processing' page is included in the workflow. Selecting the 'Continue' button, closes the 'Billing' page and inserts the 'Post Processing' page into the workflow and gives it the focus. If the user now wishes to clear (F5), a warning message is displayed advising the user that unsaved data will be lost, as expected. If the user continues with the 'clear' process, reloading the event list for the patient, shows that the event hasn't been post processed, as expected.

Description: The billing button is disabled when the event is marked as changed. This can cause some issues and may not be necessary.Resolution: Whenever an existing event is being amended within the 'Event Details' page, the 'Billing' button is now always available for selection. All changes made to the event will be saved when the 'Billing' page is closed.

Once the dialog is closed a new 'co-payment cost' row is added to the table and the cost is subtracted from the exam's procedural cost.

Description: CRIS needs the ability to display information about outstanding workflow in an easily understood way. This can be achieved by creating options to display various widgets on the CRIS front page such as a pie chart of unverified reports or a bar chart of appointments assigned for the day.Resolution: A 'dashboard' has been added to CRIS to replace the initial Menu page. This 'dashboard' allows 'widgets' to be displayed that can show various charts and text of interest to the user. A new database table WIDGET has been added to store the definition of the widgets. Initial Widgets Created are; Message Of the Day, All radiologists unverified Bar Chart, Individual Radiologist Speedo and Pie Charts

4.4 Database

Description: When creating an event from an order, there should be a single database transaction to create the exams, link the orders to the exams, and create the event.

However, in some cases, there is no transaction, and if an error occurs before the event creation, the orders can be "lost" as they are linked to orphaned exams.Resolution: Transaction problems when updating or matching patients have been fixed. This will make it less likely that the database will be left in an inconsistent state when there is an error creating events from orders.

Description: When loading the diary some days load much slower than others. Examining the Oracle execution plan for these 'slow dates' shows that Oracle is choosing to perform a full table scan on the patient table, and also sometimes on the events and status tables.Resolution: A hint has been added to the database query that loads examinations for the diary. This may improve diary performance in some cases.

Description: If a user selects an exam on the diary changed pad and presses the search forward option the changed appointment values are not reflected in the displayed details for the exam on the changed pad. This use case is not an expected way of using CRIS.Resolution: The changed pad is now refreshed to reflect changes made to appointments even after they have been added.

Description: Configuration in appointments determines which rooms are allowed to be used when booking an appointment. There is an additional list of rooms that are allowed in override mode. The drag and drop validation does not stop the users dropping the exam into any room if the user has used add room to show a room that the exam is not configured to use.Resolution: Drag and drop validation now only allows rooms assigned to an exam, or OV Rooms if the user has override permission

Description: The override security setting allows you to book an appointment in a closed slot and also overbook.

Exams on same event should not be at the same time unless one has the ignore flag set.Resolution: Using the save button in the diary will no longer allow user's to overbook exams when they only have the override permission, and even when they have the override permission, they will not be allowed to book the exam into a closed slot.

Description: Exam is set up with multiple rooms in multiple sites. Then book this exam into diary. Pressing generates SQLException: ORA-02291: integrity constraint (CRIS.EXAMS_FK12) violated - parent key not found.

Any changes after this exception in diary will not be saved.Resolution: Diary no longer throws a foreign key exception when searching forward at different sites.

Description: It is possible to change an appointment to have invalid room and time values by changing the date, room or time and printing the letter. It is possible to book the appointment into an override room even when the user does not have override permission. It is possible to log in as a user with view only permissions and use search forward in the diary to book or change an appointment.Resolution: Pressing F2 while the input focus is in the fields in the exam row now saves the appointment. Previously this only worked from the urgency, date and letter fields.

Changing an appointment and printing the letter now validates and saves the appointment before printing the letter. Previous it did not validate the appointment.

It is no longer possible for a user without APPOINT.APPT_OVERRIDE permission to book exams into the override rooms as defined in ExamsPerHospital. Previously this was possible.

Search Forward no longer books exams into override rooms. Previously it did.

Search Forward no longer functions when the user does not have GENERAL.CHANGE_EXAM permission. Previously it did function from both the Scratch Pad and the date chooser.

Description: CRIS should highlight appointments if the DOD is updated from the PAS. Only appointments made before the date of death should be highlighted.Resolution: CRIS now highlights appointments for deceased patients with a black border. Description: Remembering scratchpad details after the closing/re-open of CRIS.

Path is created from connection string of CRIS which is a problem due to length of connection string and limitation in 32bit Windows.

This causes a problem on sites using load balancing and long domain name style connections.Resolution: The Diary serializing path now uses various database information to build it's structure, ensuring that it is not too long and complicated.

Description: It should be possible to add comments to the room slots.Resolution: Room slots can now have a comment attached. Which slot has a comment is indicated by a red triangle in the corner of the slot. The actual comment can be seen when the user 'hovers' over the slot and is displayed in the tool tip text. This new functionality appears both in the Diary View screen and the Diary Setup table.

Description: It is possible to create an appointment that doesn't have a time. This causes errors when trying to display the diary page in either the diary itself, or the diary set up.Resolution: Appointments that have an exam without a time no longer cause null pointer errors in the diary or diary set up, when the day, room and time the exam booked for is displayed.

In addition, when attempting to print an appointment letter for an exam without a time, an error message is displayed informing that there is an exam that does not have a time, and the letter is not printed. Any DNA letters for exams without a time print correctly, and there have been changes to the formats so that such exams no longer print 0:00 as the time, instead the time is omitted.

Tool tips for previously dragged exams are no longer shown.

Description: When an exam is selected in the diary CRIS automatically displays the rooms defined as available for this exam. Description: In DiarySetup, when closing a room slot that has been booked and saving, a warning message is displayed.
