• Refers to the person engaged in various processes of computer operations , programming and systems analysis ,maintenance and implementation.

System Analysis

• Refers to the work done on tracing the flow of a certain system with the end in view of making it more efficient

System Design

• Follows the analysis , as what is required here is the assembling or putting together of the system’s parts , steps or phases to come up with the improved version.

System Implementation

• Concerns the trying out or testing the system design , the re-orientation and training of those who will use it.

System Maintenance

• Involves the monitoring the new system for errors or malfunctions , and to see to it that the system fit the need of the user.

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT

• Comes at any point of the above steps as this concern the writing of program for analysis , design, and implementation of systems.

Positions in the IT Department usually are divided into five main areas:

• 1. Management-Directs the planning ,research ,development , evaluation , integration of technology.

• 2. System Development and Programming-Analyzes designs , develops , and implements new information technology and maintain and improves existing system

• 3.Technical Services-Evaluates and integrates new technologies ,administers the organization’s data resources and supports the centralized computer operating system and servers

• 4.Operations-operates the centralized computer equipment and administers the network, including both data and voice communication

• 5.Training-teaches employees how to use components of the information system or answers specific user question.
