Welcome... We would like to extend a big thank you to our past cus-tomers and invite you to our 29th Annual Bull Sale. For over 30 years we have been performance testing our herd for optimum genetics. We believe in balanced genetics using calving ease, growth, structural soundness, efficiency and strong reproductive traits. A lot has changed in the last 30 years and so has the Gelbvieh breed! We have been reduced frame size, cleaned up the extra leather, eliminated udder problems and calv-ing problems. We truly believe that using our bulls will increase wean-ing weight, improve feed lot efficiency, improve disposition and increase longevity in your cow herd. The bulls have been fed a high roughage ration to promote soundness and longevity. They have been on a complete vaccination program branding time shots, pre-conditioned in September and boostered at weaning. They also have been vaccinated and boostered with Fusoguard for foot rot and will be fertility tested if it ever warms up! We are proud to be one of the top herd in the nation for Gelbvieh Dams of Merit and Dams of Distinction and several of these bulls are progeny of these dams. Crossbreeding Adds $$$ to Your Pockets

Crossbreeding is proven science, and taking advan-tage of the heterosis resulting from a crossbreeding system is a “free lunch.” Crossbreeding is a tool the forefathers of ranching knew they needed to make a better beef animal. And the beef industry isn’t alone when it comes to crossbreeding. The dairy industry uses crossbreeding to either improve lon-gevity or increase butter fat content in milk. The swine industry has used crossbreeding for decades to make an animal that meets industry and con-sumer demands while adding efficiencies to pro-duction.Crossbreeding isn’t limited to livestock. Hybrid seeds have had a tremendous impact on agricultur-al productivity. Today, nearly all corn and 50% of all rice are hybrids. Hybrid seeds are an improve-ment over open pollinated seeds in terms of quali-ties such as yield, time to maturity and resistance to pests and diseases.Producing crossbred calves allows producers to make a product that is in demand, costs less to pro-duce and puts more dollars in their pocket.Crossbreeding has another benefit when crossbred females are kept as replacements and are allowed to contribute to the herd. It’s proven that crossbred cows give you more: 8% more cow longevity, 25% more lifetime productivity, 8% increased calf crop weaned, 5% increased weaning performance and 4% more in calf yearling performance.Here’s what others within the beef industry say about crossbreeding:• “Recently, I am hearing concern from some very large, progressive producers as their cows become more straight bred in a tough environment. Lon-gevity, rebreeding and calf survivability all become important issues. I don’t think their challenges are because these producers have bought lessor qual-ity bulls or managed their ranches incorrectly.
