Hanneli and Anne went to same school and became good friends.

Franks and others must stay silent during day so they are not heard

Shortly before going into hiding, Anne received a diary

Naming it ‘Kitty’, she wrote in it throughout her stay in the Secret Annex

She used it to record her feelings and memories until the hiding place was discovered

On Friday, August 4, 1944, Anne, her family, and the others were found

The office building was raided by the Security Police

The Franks, Van Pels, and Mr. Pfeffer are arresting and shipped off to Auschwitz

Anne and Margot were transported to Bergen-Belsen in October 1944

Both died in March 1945 from Typhus Bergen-Belsen was liberated a few weeks

later The only survivor from the Secret Annex

was Otto, Anne’s father

After the Franks were taken away, one of those who helped them, Miep Gies, found Anne’s diary scattered in the Secret Annex

Saving it, she returned it to Otto when he returned to them

After reading through it, he chose to send parts of it to be published into what many today know of as Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl.
