Magazine Adverts The main purpose why companies advertise their products and services is to make it aware to their target audience and potentially attract more people as they may have not heard of the band/artist before, and from the advert are interested in hearing what they sound like. The diagram below explains how advertising works. They present the artist/band in the stereotypical way so their target audience will be drawn it straight away from the image as it attracts them. They use quotes and reviews to attract their audience to show that the album is good and worth listening to.

advert. This is included in order for them to

advertise their company. This advert doesn't give much away about the album. This may intrigue the reader even more to buy the album as they want to listen to the songs. It may also suggest that the artist is already very popular and well-know.

There is a lot of light around the artist’s face, focusing the photo on her as it makes her face stand out from the black background.

The name of the artist isn't in the biggest font, it is the same size as the name of the album. This may suggest that people already know who they are they just don't know abut their new album.

Leon. The colours link with the title, “Only By The Night”, as it looks

like night vision. The photo is a collage of an

eagle, connoting that they are human in the day and by night they

are an animal hunting.

green, making it stand out.

The name of the band is in a old font and a bigger size making it stand out from the rest.However the title of the album is in a unique font which will most likely catch the readers eye more. It also fits with the stereotype of their genre (rock/metal).

All the important bits that they want to stand out are highlighted red to catch the readers eye.

The photo fits well with the genre of rock.

People know who the band are as they ware very popular and so is the lead singer. He is

wearing make-up which is quite stereotypical.

This photo s quite unique as it has a different background to most conventional magazine adverts. It shows her style a she quite likes wearing vintage clothing.

The release date is conventionally at the bottom of the advert. It also says where you can go to buy the album

online/on your phone.

It tells the reader what songs are in the album.

These are usually the most popular songs/no.1 hits. They clearly want to sell

the new song as it is in a bigger font than the other

songs mentioned in the album and is in a different

colour to the rest of the font on the advert.

There is a website address at the bottom of the advert. This is where you can find more information about the

artist and their album.

The name of the artist is at the top of the page on the centre. It has a bigger font than the rest of the text on the age and is also in bold making it stand out.The title of the album name is also bold, making it stand out also.

There is a lot of colour on this advert making it stand out from the rest of the pages. It also represents the genre well (house). House bands/artists do not usually have photos of themselves on their albums or appear in their music videos.

The image they have used is quite unique

and stands out because the reader isn't quite sure what

they are advertising. Its an unusual picture that would catch the eye of

the reader.

The release date is in the centre under the album title. It is in a

larger font than the text above make it stand out

to the reader.

It also mentions when the band will be playing and where, promoting tickets for

concerts. They are also making aware to the reader that they are doing concerts soon encase they want to buy tickets.

You can see the record label in the bottom right hand corner which is to promote the company.
