• A data oficial da fundação dos Estados Unidos é 4 de julho de 1776, quando o Segundo Congresso Continental, representando as 13 colônias secessionistas, assinou a Declaração da Independência. Contudo, a estrutura do governo sofreu uma grande mudança em 1788, quando os Artigos da Confederação foram substituídos pela Constituição dos Estados Unidos.

• - Terremotos na costa oeste e furacões na costa sudeste e sul são os perigos naturais mais comuns do território norte-americano.

• - Os Estados Unidos da América são compostos por 50 estados.

• - Embora seja um dos países mais desenvolvidos do mundo, do ponto de vista tecnológico, o sistema de votação ainda utiliza as cédulas de papel para registrar o voto dos eleitores.
