Pre- IB Students’ Words Dana says ― I am very proud of my grades because despite my absence because of sports and championships , I was really capable to achieve high grades so far . Also, I really like to be independent and would like to show that to my parents , by relaying the message that they can depend on me more.‖ Dana adds, ― I have learned that I am strong , self confident , and that communicating with strangers is not that difficult.‖
Tryvina says ― I am proud of my two Student‘s of the Month Certificates because they made me have more self confidence ; I also enjoyed learning to be responsible; before I had a feeling of fear and shyness but now I have overcome that fear .‖ Tryvina adds, ― What I learn reflects a lot in my life. My communication skills have changed so much ; I have never imagined that one day I will be able to communicate with the school administration and to pass by classes to announce and promote our Personal Community Service Project‖
Pre- IB Students’ Words
Wafik says; "The thing I admire the most is, that I actually have the ability to stand up with you right now and have the chance to express what I want to say! The Pre- IB program is centered about what I want to say, not what my mentor wants me to!―
Yehia says: The Pre-IB changed my life 360 degrees in the way I think and act; before I used to believe THAT EDUCATION DOESN‘T CONNECT TO REALITY and maybe that is true but Pre- IB is different as it teaches you how to think for your whole life ― I have learnt through my Community Service Project to think in a creative way, work in a group and be more receptive to other differences , help people more effectively , solve issues easily and to never judge people before getting to know them and work with them.‖
Pre- IB Students’ Words
Anan (MAC) says , “Pre- IB changed my life; it gives me good skills like time management, and working in a team. All what I have learned is due to the motivation my teachers give me. It’s a life long experience that I am sure it would help me in shaping my career.”
Youssef says, ” One of the most important things that I like about Pre- IB is that it teaches me how to use what is needed in real life, which makes it a unique system. Moreover, it helps me to gain life skills such as; planning, communication, time management, organizing events and team work.”

Why IB ? Students are not only assessed through examination papers, but
also through projects , presentations, and research work.
The curriculum for each subject is relevant and current
No need for private lessons- tutoring. The students are independent self learners.
Students are awarded subject certificates with the subjects they pass. ( These are equivalent to university hours in some universities)
Incase of severe emergencies students are given an estimated grade ( needs fixing)
Students may join the diploma regardless of their various needs.
Students can join the DP (grades 11 and 12) even if they were not in an IB school before.
IB raises cultural awareness and international mindedness through updated curricula and relating their learning to real world development in all fields.

Assessment Underlying philosophy:
• Criterion-related performance – students are assessed against criteria not against one another
• Formative — many of the assessment instruments (particularly the internal assessment tasks) can be used formatively)
• Summative — a record of student achievement at or towards the end of the course of study (external)
• Attention is given to high-order skills as well as more fundamental cognitive skills
The Assessment Model Internal assessment
• Work ( Projects, Presentations) done by students over the
two years, assessed by the teacher and moderated by external examiners
• Usually 20-30% of the final grade
External assessment
• Work done by students over the two years (marked by external examiners)
• Examinations chosen for high levels of objectivity and reliability
• Retaken exam, the higher grade will be taken
Types of Assessment
•Oral Presentations
• Projects
• Student portfolios
• Practical laboratory work
• Mathematical investigations
•Essays
•Research Papers
•Short/ long responses
• Artistic performances
